nullabletype 987
I'd hate to burst the Torres hate bubbles, but between the EPL and UCL... Torres - 22 apps and 4 goals, Drogba - 18 apps and 6 goals.I love the big man just as much as anybody else, but his goal return is only marginally better than the Spaniard. He could come back tomorrow, he's still not going to save our season.Sturridge started well and has 9 goals between both competitions (well, 9 EPL, 0 UCL), he has however been pretty cold recently. Truth of the matter is none of our forward players are on hot streaks, in fact, our whole team just isn't scoring enough. Wag the finger at Torres all you want, but he only deserves so much of the flack. Fernando, neel and nofreakingway

Even if we won't win all our upcoming games, I can at least rest easy knowing the guy will try to make something happen out of nothing. Its a lot a better than seeing that blonde struggle with the ball and our weakened midfield. chillerz

He is terribly easy to defend against stuck on the right wing - only thing he can do is try to get it on his left, can't cross too well - has decent passing and shooting but only with his left boot so the left left backs usually stand off him not allowing him to cut in.We also have Lukaku - who is still young but despite that, should be given a chance at this point. I won't say that Drogba is a better option - he used to be but not any longer. Both of them have been pretty awful, two goals more for Drogba doesn't make a difference in my eyes. The problem is that Sturridge and Lukaku have barely gotten a look in to replace them all season long. This is what frustrates me nullabletype

Im not saying that if we play Didier we will storm up the league and finish top. I am saying that playing Didier will give us a better chance of finishing 4th (absolutely essential) and a better chance of beating Napoli in the Champions League. nullabletype

The Big Drog 1,110
We gave them 83 million to take him, thus making Torres the most expensive player in football history.
The Big Drog 1,110
Interesting quotes from AVB."The two players are competing for the striking position and we all know the significance of Didier to this team and his record."We will have to see how tired he is when he comes back to us but no one can doubt his ambition to win trophies for us this season."With Torres, the situation does not change. We still believe in the player but he is taking his time."It seems even AVB has grown tired of Torres, also encouraging that he recognizes and acknowledges how important Drogba is. francozola 2,040
What a disgrace yesterday. There were at least 3 occasions in the second half where Bosingwa or Cole had gotten into crossing positions and he was in the penalty box but didn't make any effort to run and find space. He just stood where he was or took a couple of steps. What a fucking joke. A striker should be running around trying to cause confusion in the other teams box and find space for himself. A striker that has such a laughable goal record should be trying TWICE as hard.He is a disgrace and an embarrassment and I cannot wait to see him go. eldo, TomCFC, Badboy and 1 other

ZanSnake 1,211
Needs to face reality once again, that if he doesn't try he isn't going to play.Disheartening that he went from being energetic and a threat to what most have described as 'awful'. Lukaku deserves a chance more now then ever.

Badboy 1,526
Give us a few of there youth players in exchange. I'm serious here ! If they offered us a few of their youth players in exchange i would take it. Fucking Romeu has basically walked into our side lol without even getting a sniff at Barca thats how inferior we are to Barca. To think once upon a time we knocked them out of the CL is just crazy.... SAD BUT TRUE. manpe, Term-X and capriccioso
Krypt 241
How many more chances will he get.... alot of us are turning our back on him now. we should have signed a right winger , at least then we could have played danny down the middle. Liquidator 5,176
Some of the 'fans' at this club sicken meFor those of you who do not know, Fernando Torres' grandma died in what I think was a car crash today. However, the 'fans' i.e the plastic little shits who expect us to win every game 5-0 and want us playing in some 90 000 seats stadium right now and wouldn't know Pat Nevin if he hit them in the face are sending him abuse on an #asktorres event on twitter this Friday. These people make me sick.
