MrBlueGuy 1,552
Anything team will need that but the point still stands.Guess there isn't really any point arguing about this if you are just gonna judge Leverkusen based on paper. Oh well..Like I said it is a matter of opinions, it is just mine, you might think differently and that is fine too. We might not even draw either anyway, making this convo a bit useless I think if we play the right tactics and the right mindset we will beat any of those teams anyway including Juve or PSG. didierforever 7,349
very weird!! monaco top the group while conceding just 1 goal and they have none of their defenders in the team of the group stages!!
LDN Blue 7,903
Juventus are woeful in Europe, almost as bad as City. I think people are overstating their difficulty.
kobematabryant 397
Basel are the hardest team for us, they are our bogey side. But the easiest team probably would be Bayer, we should beat them with ease. PSG & Juve are hard too. I think Juve will be best to get, time for revenge.

We have played them 4 times and each of us have 2 wins. People are overreacting to Basel just because they defeated us twice last season but seem to forget that we beat them twice two seasons ago. And just like I mentioned earlier, it's laughable people think Leverkusen are the easiest team of the lot. When's the draw? Next Monday, at 11am UK time.

In fact, Basel are a bogey side for English teams in general, we saw what they are capable of doing against English teams and they did it to Liverpool. Basel will try to make a name for themselves and history for the club, if they manage to get to the Quarter finals. They will be a very hungry club in the 2nd round. Not saying we can't beat Basel but we all know for a FACT that they are capable of beating us HOME & AWAY. I think if we are drawn with Basel and if we manage to get past them, it'll be a very hard sweat inducing game for the boys and will probably be harder than the Quarters draw.Plus, Leverkusen are the easiest team that is possible for us to get. All I have to say,MOYES 9-2 Leverkusen or should I say PSG 6-1 Leverkusen, the same PSG we beat next round. As I said about German Clubs before, bar Munich & maybe Dortmund, teams like Schalke & Leverkusen are Europa league fodder, that are allowed to compete in the UCL because of the success of Munich & a freak season by Dortmund. Couldn't believe how insipid and negative we were that night - we had Ramires on the RW for goodness sake! Made Basel look like Barcelona. Of the English teams to have played them in recent years, we have the best record against them. Plus, Leverkusen are the easiest team that is possible for us to get. All I have to say,MOYES 9-2 Leverkusen or should I say PSG 6-1 Leverkusen, the same PSG we beat next round. No offence but that's rather ignorant if you are just judging a team based on results.

Jase 43,476
Question. If spurs , pool or Everton win europa. Do 4th place team lose their spot? No. It just means England, in this case, will have 5 teams in the Champions League next season.http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/news/newsid=2137611.htmlhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2329601/Europa-League-winners-given-Champions-League-place-UEFA.htmlhttp://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2778224/Boost-Tottenham-Everton-UEFA-confirm-FIVE-Premier-League-clubs-feature-Champions-League.html
kobematabryant 397
OK, here is another question. What if, the final was between Roma vs Everton for example and Roma get top 2 in their league in the same season which is direct qualification for CL and if Roma win the EL, will Everton as runner ups be given the champions league spot? Instead, it will benefit another team from another association/country based on the UEFA country coefficients.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015%E2%80%9316_UEFA_Champions_League#Distribution
