Jose said If we had eight, 10 or 12 goals, we would be top of the league.

That's Lukaku and he chose to loan him out. This is despite him also saying that he could improve a 20 year old player but not a 30 year old player. To be quite honest I'm perplexed as to what Jose actually wants.

But as you so quickly jump to remind us all, Mourinho has forgotten more about football than we'll ever know, so we can't be critical :halo:

Just pulling your leg. You can be happy/unhappy about Lukaku going out on loan (I'm ambivalent about it: I think we'll see a better player for it as he's getting twice the gametime at Goodison), but that won't change anything.

The problem is that the things Mourinho seems to be forgetting only happened in August of this year. :eyebrows:

I think Lukaku will be a better player next season, but I think that would've been the case if he had stayed here too. As the skipper points out, Mourinho never seemed willing to give him a chance and that is why it's probably a good idea that he went to Everton but you can't help thinking that if Mourinho had stuck him in the team then maybe he would be that 10 goal striker that he seems to want.

Instead he brought Eto'o out of semi-retirement....well almost. He's 50% out of semi-retirement.

yet another solid match for him. He seems to finally be in the zone of his game, now it's only about adding confidence and stats to his attitude. He seems a different player, he's more objective, more incisive and I do agree he should be shooting more, but I guess the most important is the change in his attitude in the three points I've talked about after the Sunderland match: 1) staying up more often instead of expecting fouls to be called; 2) dribbling in positions that while risky pay off with good chances in counter-attacks or shooting, 3) shooting more (even if he did a bit less yesterday, it was still way more than before).

Let's not forget the kid is 22. I think he's progressing now and hopefully soon (as in next season) he'll be able to become the indisputable best asset in the team, winning us matches often.

He'll win that trophy for sure, but Eden is a bit optimistic about his brother's chances at Chelsea I'm affraid. A loan to a mid table premier league team would be a good test next year.

Yes the gap is huge. Ask Debruyne.

His brother will win the golden boot though. He's by far the best player of the league.

We need to just play Eden and Willian every match now. They have started clicking and just keep playing them and build that partnership. Once they begin linking up like Mata and Hazard used to last year, they could probably dribble through a whole team themselves.
