Eden Hazard

He wouldn't come - he won't do any better, than he did when he was here, so what's the point? To tarnish his legend?

And he'd need to go full Rocky Balboa mode for few good months to catch up on physical performance needed for PL.

As a mentor or PR staff yeah, but player? Sounds hardly realistic.

Him being here in a role similar to Drogba in 2014/15 wouldn't be the worst idea in the world. If nothing, but boost morale.

Not overly sure it would work the same though. And boost morale?

Hardly a travesty where we are needing to take in someone who lets be honest, is extremely unfit and arguably washed up on sentimental grounds because “he is great to have around the place”.

I mean not to sound Roy Keane re the whole Jordan Henderson thing when he wasn’t fit but selected for the World Cup or Euro squad a few years ago…. if he’s not going to be able to play what does he bring?

Drogba was also overused in 14/15 as Costa had continually struggled with niggling fitness issues that season and even at times for Atletico the previous season but am kind of glad DD was there as he was an old head, had experience to lead the line as a lone front man and was a real leader - somebody Mourinho could trust to do a job.

Not sure we could rely on Eden in that same way - particularly as physically the way he is, his game has always been reliant on things like speed, agility, sharp changes of direction etc and it looks like his body has broken down. Lack of European clubs trying to sign him says it all

I agree with @OneMoSalah that he's not, and really never been a role model... esp in a very young squad. On the other hand, a simple talk with him, and poch + scouts can find out about his level of commitment for a one-year deal rotation role.

It's not like he hasn't come back from vacation carrying an extra stone, so it all depends on his level of commitment.

Realistically, he's likely not up the challenge, but a talk won't hurt no-one.

He's earned enough chilling in Madrid

He's probably retiring; think he's done with football

Some reports that three French clubs approached and his agents were keen for him to continue his career but the man himself is done.

Still a player I think about all the time despite him leaving years ago now. What an absolutely insane talent.

It’s really sad that his horrible injury luck combined with his relaxed, “I’m not really bothered to stay in shape” attitude at Real Madrid will be the lasting memory that most people outside of Chelsea supporters will have of him. Many will forget that he was one of the 3-5 best players in the world at his peak in a blue shirt.

He almost felt like a reluctant superstar who just wanted to have fun on the pitch but never really cared much about taking care of himself like a modern athlete in terms of fitness. If he was as maniacal in that aspect as other world superstars he’d still be playing at an elite level for a few more years.
