David Luiz

I'm hoping that Azpilicueta or Mata can grow into a leader. I don't think Luiz wants to be a leader of the club. I think he sees himself more as the relief, the guy that picks up the team when they are feeling down with a few jokes and generally keeps things all smooth. That in itself is a great thing to able to do but I don't think it lends itself to be a leader. I think leader has to keep a calm head and has to be at least tacticaly competent, they need to be the guy that organises everything from setpiece's to falling back to defend.

If only the calmness and steadiness of Cahill and the bombastic and sociable personality of Luiz could be fused.

I don't know. Sometimes players like Luiz can become great leaders. If they're able to transmit all that passion and energy to the other players, that is. Luiz lacks some calmness, though. IMHO a leader has to be able to keep his head clear when difficult times come, and I feel Luiz tends to lose control when things are going off, commiting stupid fouls, becoming agressive etc.

Did you just describe Terry or Luiz? Terry is a fking great leader yet he isnt the most calm person etc.

Ridiculous IMHO that JT isn't playing for England because "he is not a nice guy."

You can't pick and choose the nice guys and then expect to win titles. You pick the best and handling the players is the manager's job; that's why they make the big bucks.

I was talking about Luiz, haha. But I guess it fits Terry aswell. As I said, it's not uncommon for those kind of players to become great leaders.

He stated that he does want to become one. Can't become a leader unless you want to...

Tbh, I blame Oscar more the goal we conceded tonight. Yes it was very daft to attempt that pass when he was so far out of position, but had we had a proper DM he would have covered for him.

Good point. But neither Lampard or Oscar are proper DMs so you can only put so much blame on them. I'm also not sure what Ivanovic was doing when Leeds were on the counter for their goal. He got caught ball watching and gave Becchio (spelling?) too much space. Ivanovic baffles me sometimes.

I totally agree I thought he looked good today. You cant complain against him wandering off we were playing leeds not atletico madrid. Someone should have covered him

Btw Ivanovic was absolutely woeful, before he scored.
