The Skipper 20,609
well actually torres was drogba's replacment because before him we had drogba, anelka and kalou and we were comfortable.and if studge is anelka's replacement then we need a kalou replacement.(a rw/st) and thats what i meant to say, which will probably be the likes of jovetic, moses, hulk. but not someone who is limited to one position one position only. like cavani, llorente, dzeko.Bang on, how many times did Kalou even play CF during his Chelsea career? Tricky 301
I still think Juve will get him. I dont think we need Llorent. We need a different type of Striker. I would buy Jovetic. He just gives us another option upfront. I wouldnt like us to be stuck with two pure CF.Jovetic, as good as he is could not lead the front line on his own. Actually think this could be a good bit of business, he offers something different from Torres and would be willing to sit out occasionally. BlueLion. 21,491
Media reporters just throw the name 'Chelsea' in to talk about extortionate fees and encourage other clubs to bid.
DDA 9,983
i thought llorente was going to juventus?Juventus tabled a 20million bid which was rejected. Athletic Bilbao as a club have been rumored to be making Llorente's life hell.. club banners and a lot of media outlets have been commanded to criticize Llorente's desire to leave the club. He has one year left on his contract which could mean him staying at the club until the January transfer window in retaliation to the way the club and fans have treated him resulting in a price drop for his services, though Juventus are said to be preparing a higher bid ( his buyout clause) before this current window shuts. I would be very surprised if we enter this saga with a higher bid than what Juve are prepared to offer, with our attentions focused on Hulk and Cavani. Superblue 6,372
Maybe because they all play more than 1 striker at once? And we could too potentially if sturridge plays RW. That then leaves us no striking options on the bench. All it takes is one longish term injury and we'll have just one striker to call upon. The Skipper 20,609
What do you mean by a Kalou option? Before we had a strike force of Drogba, Anelka and Kalou. We've now got Torres (Drogba), Sturridge (Anelka), and ? (Kalou). What I mean by a Kalou option is someone who is satisfied being a squad player, someone who's versatile enough to play in different positions etc. Someone like Moses is a decent example. We were going to get giroud until wenger stepped in and we've had enquiries turned down for lewandowski apparently too. So if the club feels this way then Llorente would be a good option

That is certainly not the case.
Tricky 301
Honestly feel a cheeky bid for Berbatovs makes sense. He isn't going to demand a starting position and is old enough not to impede our younger players progression (Lukaka).Having said that I think Llorente offers something none of our existing squad can offer, the ability to hold up the ball and bring others into the game. Manchester City get better with respect to man chester city. just cuz we got hazrd do u see them signing a winger, or just cuz man u got van did man city get cavani?! Chelsea get better with respect to chelsea, not by what other clubs are doing. or should chelsea sell their best players cuz arsenal have?

Jase 43,479
Wouldn't mind him. Offers something different to what we have right now though I'm not sure if he's willing to spend some time on the bench and rotate with Torres and Sturridge a bit.
