Share Posted May 16, 2013 2004, a little 9-year-old boy is sitting in front of his family's TV watching Chelsea vs Monaco and wondering who that player with his favourite number 8 is.Almost 10 years later, that same boy is crying for joy that his hero will remain one more season at his club.I love you Lamps and I'm deeply sorry that I made those comments last year. You're truly the greatest player this club has ever seen.LONG LIVE SUPER FRANKIE Madmax, TorontoChelsea, Manuf and 3 others

Hutcho 8,443
Adidas has been installing 203 balls to places from where Frank scored. How are they gonna get 48 balls on the penalty spot? Unless they are putting them in the goal where he scored them... In which case the question is how they are gonna get 48 balls in the bottom left hand corner? The only place to be 11,313
I've been critical of his performances this seasons and I still have reservations over what this means for the midfield next season, but right now I'm just delighted that such a phenomenal ambassador for this club is sticking around for at least one more year. The club did the right thing in not just doling out a contract but taking their time and maybe even getting a better deal for the club. One would also hope that they've consulted the new manager and included him in the discussion, and if it is who we think it is then I trust his judgment. LDN Blue 7,903
So...wages? I wonder who gave in..Guardian, yesterday, suggested he had. I really don't want to hear he's anything near the £80-100k region.

Playing the Premier League games right before a crunch CL game to rest players, playing in the League Cup, FA Cup and games like home to Cardiff, home to Hull, Home to Norwich etc where he will get space in midfield The only place to be and Ankit

Magic Lamps 11,692
Lamps's performances in the very crucial games this season once again proved his critics wrong. He remains, no matter his age, one of the best midfielders in the world, individually (also if not in the pivot), and one of the best and most important players in the team. Prolonging his contract was the only reasonable decision and probably the threat of him leaving was never as great as the media made it look like. Funny enough, that the people who want him out of this club, in the end took all their medial vindication out of nothing but hot air. In the end they were completely alone with their delusions. I do not really like these Scholes/Giggs comparisons. They never were anywhere near as good as Lampard and their contribution, even in their prime, which feels like 900 years ago, is ridiculous compared to Lamps's. I got not the shadow of a doubt that Lamps will be waaay more effective. Lamps simply is the greatest player ever to wear the shirt and that is so much more than a career artificially prolonged into mediocrity. 11Drogba and Phil Driver
