Simeone told Torres on Monday that he doesn't want to sign him
Atlético's Fifa transfer ban means the player has to be signed before 1 February if he's to be part of the club's plans next season.

Atlético Madrid coach Diego Pablo Simeone told Fernando Torres on Monday that he didn’t figure in his plans for next season. In a meeting between the Argentinean, the striker and Atleti boss Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, the coach said that if it was up to him he wouldn’t sign the player before the close of the winter transfer window, with a deadline of 1 February.

Torres is on loan from Milan at Atleti, and the transfer ban Fifa has hit the club with, pending appeals, means they won’t be able to register Torres next summer or in the January 2017 window. In order to be sure of having Torres at the Calderón next season Atleti would need to sign him in this transfer window, that is, by next Monday.

The Vardy rumours are hotting up again.  Please, no.  I'm very happy for him, I'm glad he's doing so well at this level, but no.

We have the biggest squad depth in Premier league :) So many good talents on loan and also in our squad. We have to sign biggest young talents (wonderkids) or world class players, just don't buy any average players.

Loanees and young talents in squad:

CB: Christiansen
Wingback: Ake, Baba
Central midfield: RLC, Pašalić, Van Ginkel
Attacking midfield: Kenedy, Traore, Musonda, Boga
Striker: Solanke

Integrate (some of) those youngsters in first team, keep the best players that are capable to produce on top level (both GKs, Azpi, Zouma, Terry as leader and not starting CB, Fabregas, Hazard, Willian, Costa, Pato??), sell some average (aged) players (Cahill, Ivanovic, Mikel, Matic, Pedro, Oscar, Remy) and bring some really quality players that can really add quality to the team (CB, DM, CM) :)

Just my opinion ;) Depends on market situation but I am not even sure I would keep Fabregas.

Date published: Thursday 7th January 2016 1:22

Check out the list of players linked with moves to Chelsea in the January transfer window by the national press over the past four months…

Although top football clubs sign only a handful of first-team players every year, many of those in the Premier League are linked with dozens and dozens of new ones ahead of every transfer window.

Ever since the summer one shut at the start of September, we’ve been tracking the players linked with moves to Chelsea by the mainstream press. We’ve ignored ‘according to reports from Italy’-style rumours, including only the new and exclusive reports from the national newspapers in a bid to decipher which sources can be trusted…and which can’t.
