The only place to be 11,313
Exactly. And if City, PSG, and Real Madrid are just pissing all over FFP then we should too. It's obvious that none of them are taking it seriously. There isn't a chance UEFA would kick any of those clubs out of the CL either.Let's just buy Suarez, Kroos, and Shaw tomorrow and dare them to do anything about it. Roman pushed for FFP though. He's never been against it because it's actually to our advantage for it to come in.
Pizy 19,377
Well I think for us, I think the club wants to continue with it's plan. Balancing books and try to get players from the academy into the team. So if we continue with that, we can't no longer spend that much like in the past. It will also take away spot from bringing in younger players. Roman pushed for FFP though. He's never been against it because it's actually to our advantage for it to come in.Very true.We just have to hope that by next season José is able to construct and set up our team tactically to overcome City. Don't see their insane spending stopping anytime soon. Even if they win the league I'd expect them to spend gobs of cash. I really am convinced United will spend humongous money this summer and buy at least 3-4 world class players. Arsenal signed that new Puma deal and have said themselves that they can now start spending the fees necessary to get world class players. It's all going come down to the manager and their tactics next year. Our link with Vitesse, our targeting of young players who will either get better and contribute to the squad or simply make us a profit when we sell them, the way we re-sign older players and the occasional marquee signing means we're nicely placed going forward.Over time our revenues will continue to grow but the single biggest bottleneck right now is the stadium. Until that is sorted (and it'll be May before anything is even close to being discussed, let alone being decided upon and then built) then we're going to have to be a little bit smarter than the Arsenal's and City's of this world. Popular Post! Jype 6,398 Posted January 30, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted January 30, 2014 Yep, the Chelsea board are seriously trying to make the club profitable, even before the FFP was announced in the first place. That's not because they want to make themselves and the owner some extra pocket money like for example the Arsenal board are doing, but because making sure the club isn't overly dependent on the owner's funding is no doubt the best way to ensure the long term future of the club. We have wonderful players already and the club has continued to spend money whenever necessary so why should the people running the club throw away years of hard work if the FFP suddenly turns out to be nothing more than a joke? I for one am very much liking the way Chelsea does business these days. SinineUltra, The only place to be, Pizy and 5 others

The Skipper 20,609
Pretty sure we'll sign Luke Shaw and a WC striker. Would be nice to bring in someone like Kroos as well. Rmpr and Jype

didierforever 7,349
our squad is pretty much there and there abouts.GKs - cech , courtois, hilario (i am pretty sure that somehow he ll get an extension), blackmandef - JT, GC, DL, zouma, kalas, iva, azpi, AC, bert, pva, wallace, akeDM/CM - rambo, lamps, mikel, matic, romeu, mvg, josh, chalobahAM - oscar, hazard, willian, schurrle, salah, moses, piazon, traore, atsu, marin, kakuta, thorganST - lukaku, FT, etoo, BA, bamford (by the looks of it he might be as useful as some of the names of the list).a lot of "big" decisions to be made to jose and the board concerning the squad. the GK choice, contract extension to the 3 legends (JT, FL, AC), integration of youth etc etc. the only thing that is OBVIOUS is that we will buy a WC striker this summer.cavani should be it for me. dont care if its 60mil or 50mil. will be interesting to see who makes the grade and who does not.
