OneMoSalah 8,886
That has to be the worst formation i have ever seen.Do not underestimate the 3-5-2, as said above it was used by Juventus and they went and won the league unbeaten and got Italy to the Euros final... it is a good formation if you have the right players. channing 8
Been thinking about it, if we recall Courtois and Oscar signed, we can field a team all under 23 which is able to win some games in domestic cup competitions.------------------Courtois----------------------Todd----Chalobah----Ake-----Bertrand-----------McEachran-----Romeu------------Oscar-----------Hazard-----------Piazon---------------------Lukaku---------------------yeah in china we call it 黑店 means a gangster inn

OneMoSalah 8,886
so with that ... does this formation play have RWB and LWB ?Yeah. Maicon (if he moves here) would be able to play as a RWB and I believe Ashley could play as a LWB too.
Strike 7,493
I'm getting a feeling that we're trying to be like Barcelona. Lots of nifty, quick, fast, skillful, classy, small players and lots of them. We really need another solid player like Essien/Ballack otherwise we could end up like Arsenal. I like the change, it's hugely exciting but i don't wanna see us get overpowered by teams like Stoke, Everton, Sunderland etc. Id rather us get Felaini than anyone else regarding the 'Double Pivot'.Disagree. While I agree with your analysis that we need a power player in the middle, i think shelling out 20million for Fellaini is a waste - maybe if we sell Essien and Meireles, it makes sense but as of now it is illogical to sign Fellaini. Firstly, we are trying to make us a better attacking unit and secondly Fellaini racks up a huge foul count. Last season we were the worst team in terms of discipline and adding Fellaini is ill advised. Also, we have Ramires who I feel can be our new Essien/Yaya Toure in the middle as a Box to Box. The real problem lies in the fact that Lampard will be picked regardless of what fans think and that is one midfield position locked. With Oscar/New Creative Mid , Mikel, Ramires, KDB, Romeu, Essien, Meireles to chose from for the other CM position, Creative Mid is a MUST and when we sign the Creative mid, Fellaini will only be a luxury

YouNameIt 1,511
That formation won Juve the Scudetto without a single defeat and got an average Italy side to the final of the Euros....just sayin'With those players? We'd get kicked out of the PL lol.Do not underestimate the 3-5-2, as said above it was used by Juventus and they went and won the league unbeaten and got Italy to the Euros final... it is a good formation if you have the right players. So what if Juve used it? Just because they did, what says we can use it and be successful? How many other teams are using it? And btw I was mostly reacting to the players he listed with that formation, it made me vomit actually just having 1-2 creative players on the pitch. BlueLyon 9,359
You do realise that if we would play possesion football or attacking football with players that cankeep the ball, there is no need for some realy strong defence. Our back four are fantastic, possibly best defence in the world (looking we kept Munchen and Barca almost scoreless).Munchen, Barca play offensive football and there is not necesarry to have extra strong defence. Or you play ofensive or defensive. You cant do both. And after all there is also Mikel. Its time to start thinking that 5 players who can defend excelent are enough if we want to play nice ofensive football. When comes to harder opponents, Lampard plays aswell along Mikel and also Rambo. Both are good defensively too. When comes to easier matches (about half of pl games, some group stage CL games, Carling, Fa cup games, club world cup games -i guess they are not that difficult) we should play with Oscar (kid will need at least 30 games this season; including sub apperances if he wants to evolve), Marin, kdb,...One CDM is enough, with attacking style football we must have enough attacking-gifted players. Justin_3d 1,140
Well with Hazard being good as he is, the big problem will now be is weather Hazard plays behind the strikers taking Mata position, and Mata moving to the wing?Mata was not really that good when he played in the wing.....Then what happens with Marin? Does he play LW or RW?And where do we put Ramires?

Does he play LW or RW?And where do we put Ramires?I'm not really worried about who of Mata and Hazard plays CAM. Both of them can excel in both positions and can interchange during games. And yes, Mata was really that good when he played LW mate, he was still by far our best player. If Marin is comfortable at RW I would love to see a combination of Mata - Hazard - Marin. Marin wouldn't be restricted to have no other option than cutting in, Mata providing those perfect passes and Hazard simply destroying the other team anywhere on the field, drifting around the oppositions half.
