Juan Mata

Wasn't too pleased when I saw him benched yesterday because without him in the starting XI right now, we don't have that extra bit of class in the final third. But when he did come on, he was always looking to make things happen and it was lovely pass to setup Drogba for the goal.

Mata on facing Napoli in the second leg.

'In football, nothing is impossible,' the 23-year-old said.

'At Stamford Bridge, this Champions League, we had good results in the group - 3-0, 2-0 and 5-0.

'All the supporters, for sure, will be cheering us.

'It's a final for us and I think we can do it.'

Napoli's strengths and weaknesses were laid bare during their 6-3 Serie A win over Cagliari on Friday night.

Mata added: 'From the first minute, we have to try to create chances to score.

'We know that they have very, very good strikers.

'We have to be careful with them but we are going to press them from the first minute.'

The truth is, our home stats in the Champions League this season are great. Let's keep it on.

On the sacking :

No player in the squad has done anything or thought about a change in the coach. He was the manager and we all put our faith in him. He had good ideas and he wanted to change things in the club but, in the end, it is the results that matter. Nobody got rid of him.

He came with the idea of how he played at Porto - the pressure high up the pitch, robbing the ball and always being very close to the opponents' goal with a very offensive football.

Perhaps Chelsea were used to a different style, perhaps a more physical one with a lot of chances in a small space of time, not such a fluid style but still a very attacking one. It was maybe imposing a style when the team were not used it.

On Roman's 'dressing down' :

He did not come to tell us off. He talked to us last week after the change of manager. He had also come to one or two training sessions.

On Torres :

Fernando still has time. He has lived through a lot of good and bad. He is working extremely hard in training.

You can't forget so soon his 80 goals in Liverpool. He'll be a very important player for Chelsea and for Spain.

Hopefully that will lay all the stupid conspiracy theories to rest...but noooo, he's being gagged by Lamps and co, so he can't speak out in public

There are 2 things watching Mata plays that frustrate me. One, he needs to improve physically. It's just annoying that at times, other players rob the ball so easily of him! The other would be for him to improve his right foot. I just get terribly annoyed when players are so one-footed that they can't do anything with their weaker foot. Not saying Mata is one but you can see he isn't comfortable when he needs to use his right foot.
