Zoro 151
i see no reason why he cant tie down a spot on the wings and have a big impact still.Because he has no pace or strength. Oscar is quicker than Mata and even he struggled playing out wide. LDN Blue
gr123 167
I can only assume that the reason why Mata is still wearing a blue shirt (well, technically - the poor bastard can't get a game) is that no top club abroad wanted him or could afford him. Expect PSG to take him in 6/12 months time.

Stats 7,142
Mourinho is such an ass sometimes. In the interview he said Mata has been below par and that justifies him leaving him out. As a manager get behind him and give him his confidence back. Same way you play Hazard every single game even when he is poor, try and give Mata game time to get his spark back. NishC300 1,865
Wayne Veysey @wayneveysey now 2 theories on outcasting Mata - (a) Mourinho is flexing his muscles & telling squad no one untouchable b )Major falling-out behind scenes. (Reply) CLBrosnan93 @CLBrosnan93 now @wayneveysey how can you fall out with Mata though? He wouldn't hurt a fly. Mceachran

ChelseasMessiah 304
Get this lad on a fitness programme for a week or two and have him back in the side when he's 100%. As much as I wanna see him playing every minute, he looked below par so far this season. He's one of the world's best players and will nail his spot in the front three when he is proper fit. xPetrCechx and kellzfresh

Rambo 1,729
I'm sure Mata will try to adapt but I still don't see him being here past this season, maybe even Jan.I hope you're wrong but I can see the same as well.
Korea 734
If Mata does leave, where can he excel? Prior to all the transfers tottenham conducted, I thought the Spurs and Mata was a match made in heaven. However, with ericksen and lamela, I don't think they would need him...... mediator 2,026
I can see him going to United as part of Rooney's deal, maybe that's José's plan if Mata want to take part to the WC, he will have to play... elsewhere.
Magic Lamps 11,692
On his day Mata is one of the best no.10 in the world. But it is true. Real has Isco, Modric. Barca does not even feature a no.10 int heir system, Bayern have an army of no.10s just like us, City has Silva, even Arsenal got Özil and Tottenham have bought every half-decent player. The only place where he would be more than needed is ManU, but we won't sell him to them, cos they did not give us Rooney. So literally there is only PSG who could use AND afford him. that is why i can see him stay here beyond January. We will have enough games for him to feature in. Thing is i do not see him succed as RW. He is a no10 and nothing else. But with Mourinho who always wants his CAM to help out defensively I can even see KDB starting over him in that position. Out of all our six AMs he is probably the worst winger but the best no.10. No idea how Mou can overlook that. With all three maestros playing, which is IMO still our best offensive lineup, the rotation would eradicate the problem of who is no.10 cos all of them would switch positions. Anyopposition can deal with only the flanks switching, but three players of this technical calibre rotating will drive any D to madness. Rami-Mike should offer enough defensive protection to unleash mazacar again. Strike

diskoviolente 425
it would break my heart if Mata leaves under these circumstances. he is such an elegant and subtile player. maybe Mou wants to flex his muscles and make a stance who is boss or whatever, but i don`t know how you can say that he has been below par when he only played that little. hopefully he gets his chance and can play in the middle with oscar just as Jose said in the sky interview today. Oscar is strong and ahead if Mata, true. But why is Jose taking this weird road again after the Joe Cole Scenario. I don`t understand why he isn´t dealing with this quietly behind the scenes.
