Whilst it’s an eye roller, him winning trophies may help us in terms of mentality.

Harry Kane, “World class” striker is 28 years has 240+ career goals LUKAKU, 28 years “the flop” has 320+ career goals LUKAKU “a flop” has proven himself in 3 Euro leagues and has 5 trophies to his name while the “world class” has none

I really wish I could take this like a kid and just get excited about a sepctacular signing instead of worrying about the context.

But being a buisness man for me this just boils down to this:

Decent player, bad deal.

You could well call this a high-risk low reward signing.

Let's now just all get behind him and keep our fingers crossed that he scores a ton of goals and carries us to many titles.

Wonder if he takes over as our primary penalty taker from Jorginho. You always want to see your main striker step up and put them away since it feeds their confidence. He did so for Inter so I’m sure he’ll put himself forward.

Kind of a pointless stat Kane is playing for a crap team who isn't competing for anything, whereas Lukaku played for United and Inter.

They had a few title races , finals and a cl run , they suck but they’ve been competitive enough and probably same level as Utd when lukaku was there

They are maybe even better than Utd post Fergie era.

Disagree there, Spurs were incredibly attacking and United were woefully defensive. Note that I’m not in favour of this transfer, nor Rom’s biggest fan, that said I won’t be unfair to him either.

A little sceptical but it has to say something that universally Inter fans are broken that he's leaving and all Italian pundits are saying this is a different player to the one that left United a couple of years ago.

The biggest thing for me is that he has never had a problem with the burden of being the chief goal threat of a team. If anything he thrives off of that responsibility and in turn I think it will benefit the likes of Werner and Havertz to not be shouldered with that same burden. They themselves (along with the likes of Mount and Pulisic) I think will thrive off being secondary attackers for the team with a focal point in front.

The thing is these stats are incredibly hard to gauge and a bit pointless for example Kante took Tottenham to a CL final whereas Lukaku couldn't even get past the group stages with Inter, football is a team game, you hardly win anything on your own.

Also where did you get those stats on goals on transfermarkt it says

Kane 415 matches 248 goals and 63 assists

Lukaku 519 matches 259 goals 85 assists

I did preface it with an eye roller, that said, I still disagree with the notion of downplaying his record and achievements with regard to trophies, again not that I am a fan of his; I’m so still shocked we forked out £97m, I would honestly have preferred a Tuchel statement to say “our only target wasn’t achievable, therefore we could not spend” would we have been placated with that? I sure would have been.

a copy and paste from Twitter, they may we’ll be wrong if you’ve found a more reliable source.

Big Rom is gonna prove ye all  wrong when he starts banging in goals...left right and centre...

I hope that’s the case. I’ll be first in line to say I was wrong.

When we offered €130M and there was no counter or discussion, it was not going to happen this window.
