LAM09 7,085
Got to laugh that Belotti is supposedly a "one season wonder" while there's people saying to spending £90m+ on someone no one knew till January. [emoji38]

Guess we have to come to terms with the fact that a he'll cost between Pogba's £89m to £100m. It's madness, but that's the way it is. I expect a whole lot of outrage (even from Chelsea fans) if/when we do sign him for that amount but after he starts banging them in regularly that talk will stop. Pogba will end up being worth the price in relitive terms, he's certainly one of the best midfielder's around and when the obsession over his price tag stops he will be reconised as such. Lukaku im truly not convinced ever will be, his goals no doubt he will score, but aside from that i can't see how he fits in. Costa fit's us outside his goals because he's tenacious, presses well and is incredibility smart tactically with his off the ball movement. Even when he has his games were he can barely control the ball properly he gives us that. Lukaku falls short on those tactical level's compared to Costa and i fear our shape and team balance could be heavily affected by the fact Romelu is pretty lazy and hasn't got great movement.  SinineUltra and DYC.

Maybe I lack imagination, but in my opinion, the perfect fit to our system would be L.Suarez/R.Lewandowski type of strikers ,but that's just dreamland. That leaves us with worse alternatives and a heavy pricetag that comes with the Chelsea tag. Would be logical to assume that the transfer is done and Lukaku is returning to the Bridge given how active Everton have been on the transfer market. Only reason I see delaying the announcement is not to bump the prices up of our other targets. Though, that is just an assumption. Popular Post! Leif 6,006 Posted July 3, 2017 Popular Post! Share Posted July 3, 2017 Serie A is not weaker than the Premier League, at all. Maybe it was 3 seasons or so ago. La Liga, Serie A, Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1. There's no nuance to the game here anymore; if you can score against Italian defences you'll rip English ones to shreds. And this is before the top teams in Italy have their own stadiums. This is before they get the obscene TV money the English teams get. The Premier League's almost dead, and it's being replaced by a lookalike zombie. Shining here means nothing, now. It's no coincidence the likes of Aguero & Suarez dominated over here, yet only ever been the 5th or even 10th best player in Spain. Add Costa to that too. Went from being something like the 15th best player in La Liga to a top 3 player in the Premier League - and it's not like he's improved as player - he hasn't. Even Bale ripped England up, only to be a slightly above average player over in Spain. Elite forwards look at the lack of actual football over here and lick their lips. + Sanchez, too*. If Jamie Vardy & Mahrez can come out of nowhere & both end a season as top 5 scorers, Belotti can do so, with ease. *Got another one - Fabregas went from a 'meh' player in Spain, to truly being one of the top 5 players in the Premier League, this following his decline. YorkshireBlue, DYC., SinineUltra and 5 others
