Even I don't think the situation is anywhere near terminal for Lukaku but if he wants to repair the situation, then he has to go perform and score some big winners over the next few games and even lead us 1-2 major titles come end of the season.

I am obsessed with that trophy, its the only one we lack (that is still played) and we will likely be the holders for 2 years as it is the last in the current format and this the last one that is sorta easy to win

if we lose it again, we not only will likely have a insanely hard time winning it ever, but we will go down as the only euro side to lose it after the first 3, and will have lost it TWICE

as long as we qualify for the CL next year, my main hopes for the remainder of the season are the FWCC and perhaps we somehow, somehow get on a run after Lille and can scrape out another CL (fantasyland at this point I know)

we might scrape out a League Cup win (fucking hell Pool lucking out and getting in the semis)

Bosingwa was a bigger part of the UCL run yet it's widely accepted he was a flop overall. I almost forgotten how infuriating the double standards towards Torres were.

And his attitude wasn't that much better than Rom's if atall, as early as the plane back from Munich he was making ultimatums about playing time, after the 18 months he had he should have been on his knees begging not to go the same way as Malouda.

I have never believed he can come good here. Never. You are free to read the first ten posts I wrote about him. I warned you all and predicted this. When this signing was imminent I wish the fans went to Stamford Bridge and took protest preventing club to get him. I have always  told that his ego and the fact that is the first class prick ,who has better opinion about himself than anyone else have, will get us in the major scandal and  trouble eventually. He thinks he is Real level player, the world class. His ego is enormous and his behaviour  is horrible. He spent entire career blaming someone else for his shortcomings. As soon as I saw him benched, I was wondering what will happen. Not surprised at all.  Was expecting this.

Wow you're criteria for success must be pretty small!

The Torres signing left us hamstrung for years. The Barca goal was a great emotional moment to cap off the most ridiculous game but it was technically irrelevant as we were through without it.

On top of putting up with Torres, we lost Sturridge and missed out on Aguero as a result and unlike other complete failures like Morata we weren't able to get any sort of return back on him.

There is absolutely no way that Lukaku can be packaged alongside Torres at present. He has 7 goals in 18 games so far, 6 of those have been coming on as a sub so his goal output considering how much he's played so far this season is far from dreadful. We can all debate his 'fit' in the team but he's not a player currently on the decline or blighted by injuries like Torres was when he was bought here.

Let's see how the smoke settles with this. 

I don't see a situation where it becomes Tuchel or Lukaku, I think any differences between the two can be resolved.

The bigger issue is actually going to be Lukaku keeping on the good side of the match going fans. If he has a blinder on Sunday and scores the winner, I think this will end up blowing over in time. But if he fails to perform, I think he'll have a job on his hands to get the support back on his side.
