Mourinho praises Courtois

Mourinho has confirmed his trust in our national goalkeeper. Last week media claimed Courtois had to extend his contract or be benched when he returns.

José Mourinho denies the whole story: "With Petr Cech we have the best goalkeeper in the world in our ranks, but Courtois is the best keeper of his generation." Mourinho told Het Laatste Nieuws.

"He has another 2 years left on his contract, we have everything under control. Clubs that want to buy or loan him might be having a hard time, we don't."

Last weeks Courtois was heavily linked to FC Barcelona. His great performances for Atletico and the national team haven't made things easier for Chelsea.

One things for sure: Courtois won't return to London to warm the bench.

It was a freak mistake too, rather than a few of Cech's errors. Looping balls like that can catch out the very best keepers (Nayiiiiiiim!!!) and it's a very tough type of ball to judge because you'd almost never practice being in that situation. He's still the keeper for our future.

7/10 times the ball cannot be knocked away with one hand when you're going backwards and sidewards at the same time. The only way he could made a better attempt at catching was to dive with both hands but that runs the risk of him going head on into the post.
