Theo Walcott

As I have said, Walcott's game is all about pace and space. Give him the latter and he will excel. Problem comes when he's not given that. When opponents defend deep and narrow against us, which the lesser sides tend too, then Walcott is basically ineffective. These problems were already evident even when he was still playing at RW.

It's almost like you've looked at Walcott's speed score on FIFA and decided that he must just be about pace - he isn't. Like I said, you don't play 5 years under Wenger without becoming exceedingly comfortable on the ball, something that he was at Southampton too.

That's like saying Falcao's game is just about poaching - it's a very narrow way of defining what a player is capable of.

You criticised Falcao because he doesn't contribute as much as Lewandowski, yet Walcott offers a lot more around the box than either of them so like I said it's the inconsistency in some people's criticisms that I find a little odd.

I think thats a bit unfair, look at the goal where beat 3 men, went to ground got up and chipped the keeper. Pure class and skill that. Not pace or space. Every player goes missing in games, even Mata, but he looks like he has gone on a level.

He's young, british, proven EPL and would be relatively cheap. I reckon Chelsea could get him if we showed him the money. Lets face it , he will know he's more likely to win things with us and be well paid

Worth a punt I reckon

Imagine playing him as striker with all the other small players we have. No aerial presence whatsoever; he won't win anything in the air and hardly a threat on crosses.

He can't exactly do anything with his back to goal either, so he needs to played in behind to take advantage of his pace and finishing ability.

I think Wenger should try starting with him and Giroud and leave OX on the bench. I can see a good partnership developing there, and Walcott would benefit from Giroud's knockdowns.

All in all i don't want him here, we need a real striker.

If Walcott insists on playing as striker, then we shouldn't pursue him anymore imo.

Islam Feruz can do the job for us as a CF without us going after another delusional winger dreaming of being a striker.

Even though he scored a hattrick I still think he is shit. He has no technical ability, only pace and his decision making is awful at times. He was hardly in the game today.

It's from TalkSport but...

http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/130101/exclusive-arsenal-drop-interest-wilfried-zaha-becasue-theo-w

talkSPORT understands Arsenal have dropped their interest in Wilfried Zaha – because Theo Walcott is set to sign a new deal.

The Gunners were keen to land the Crystal Palace youngster as a replacement for Walcott, who was set to leave the club at the end of his contract this summer.

But reports have emerged from the Emirates that the former Southampton winger is ready to agree a new deal, having had various requirements met, and that has opened the door for Manchester United to sign the Eagles star.

Arsenal remain in the market for other targets this January though with Demba Ba, David Villa and Arda Turan all linked to the north London club.

We should sign Zaha then and if needed loan him back to Palace until the summer...

Yannick Bolasie has been outshining him in recent weeks so Palace fans say and Zaha has been off form recently. I certainly think he should stay at Palace till the end of the season at least.

Hm,I thought that Zaha is a winger.We only need a striker,who can score,because Torres can´t

I'd take Walcott. 23 and English, which is very important if we're losing Ash, Frank and Sturridge. The last type of player you want to see coming off the bench in the 60th minute if your a defender.

What I wouldn't do is pay 20M for Walcott, or absurd wages. He's not the out and out striker we need but he's definitely an option. He'll outpace anyone in the game and at 23 still has 4 or 5 years to develop.

As for Feruz, he's nowhere near ready enough, probably 2 or 3 years away from becoming an actual member of the squad.

We will just get the rules changed and play crab football with all these small, skinny, frail players haha.

*crab football is where you basically walk around on your hands and knees but your backwards (if you get what I mean) like a crab and try and play football - you can't stand up or that its pretty stupid but we tried it in our training at a local team in training a few years back, ... just incase you didn't know. this is the reason why Scotland suck,we play too much crab football in training :Goober:
