I’m sure he has a lot on his mind atm, and congrats to him, but as one who actually praises his play even when he does not score, there is very little to praise about his performance against Bournemouth... giroud came in and did his regular slow thing and it was a hell lot more than what morata did.

needs to do a lot more to remain at this club.

Alvaro Morata dreaming of transfer back to Real Madrid

I wish this dickhead would fuck off back to Real maybe we can do some type of swap deal for Kovačić

They got rid of him twice, already.  He should dream about being good enough to have Madrid want him.

If Madrid wants him back, we should offload him without any second thoughts. People trying to make Morata work for us is like trying to make a pig fly. It's not going to happen. Like I said a billion times already. I followed Morata even before he moved to Chelsea because I was watching Zidane's Madrid. He was awful then, and he is awful now. Ever wondered why he hardly ever played for Spain? While Giroud, we always made fun of the guy when he played for Arsenal, however ALWAYS played for France?

If Zidane can't get the best of him, if Sarri can't get the best of him, who would?

The fact that Giroud is a thousand times better than Morata says it all. I seriously like how Giroud is performing, but we still need that cutting edge in attack. Sell Morata, keep Giroud and get a CF that brings goals.

Morata should return to Serie A. It was the only league he was good in.

I was hoping.  Really hoping.  But, I think this is a lost cause.  We're (joint) top scorers in the league and he has 1 (though it was a really good goal).

If he can't score in this offence,  he can't play in the EPL. It's tailor-made for a striker to bag 30 goals. Look at Sarri's past teams. What a disappointment Morata has been.

I flicked through the first pages of this thread. Everyone was super excited about the signing, except me. I knew Morata didn't do well in Madrid. But I had to keep quiet then and be a little positive because maybe just maybe Morata would turn the corner here and change. Sometimes you need to change club and you'll find that hidden talent.

It didn't happen. And he changed clubs 3/4 times. It's never going to happen.

Scratching my head how Morata became a big name like this in the first place. That one season in Juve. He wasn't even the main man for the team. Sure, we saw huge potential. But that's it. He was ridiculously overhyped looking back.

Torres, at least he had history. Scored the winner in Euro 2008 final for Spain. Liverpool and Spain's deadly, main striker back in the day. What has Morata actually done bar doing flicks and tricks in Juve's winning season?!

Good goal helped by Arsenal's ridiculous, naive defending in the first half. No sensible PL team would defend like that, unless they have quality defenders to take risks (which Arsenal lack).

I think he's become a big name because he had the potential to be good and was available.  Top teams have top strikers and top teams don't let their players leave.  Especially their 30 goals a year strikers.  So, if you need one, you have to pick from the rest (if you consider yourself to be a top team).

^^ this!

So make a list of the sure thing strikers, the ones we know would do better than morata right off the box... now consider that if, and it is already a big if, they are available, we still need to convince them to join us.

Say he plays for another top team. Does well, hence why we are after him, why would he want to leave and chase what he has already accomplished? Answer has to be prestige and/ or, of course, (a lot) more money.

So, even though I wouldn’t rate our scouts anywhere near top10, after all they thought bakayoko was a footballer, they have probably been trying very hard to get a proper replacement for the solid #9 we had (and quit).

personally I don’t think our scouts know a whole lot in South America, esp Brazil and Argentina. Even though the current crop of strikers is a bit weak, the next big one is always around the corner. The only ever good prospect from SA was Oscar and that did not quite work (got the invest money back tho).

Might find his level tonight against this Greek grass roots side.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if he ripped it up tonight.
