Liquidator 5,176
I think if they keep the 4 chimneys they could make it look sublime. The problem is that Battersea Power station is one of those marmite buildings. Some people absolutely hate it while others love it. Personally I would be embarrassed to have my team playing in the old power stationPast work from the architects of our potential new stadiumhttp://www.kpf.com/projects.type.asp

ulsterchelsea 3,221
Would be interested to see what the plans will look like. Certainly looks to be plenty of surrounding area. Would the plan be to incorporate the current station or demolish the lot and rebuild would be what I'd like to know.
strong centreback 157
Couldnt be built inside the power station as its not big enough, the chimneys also need sorting as well due to the fact they are well over their life expectancy so they need pulling down before they fall down, this could be the reason that they made the offer to the cpo, the debt on the site has matured and its possible for the lenders to call it in so puts any new bidder in a good position should that arise as the current owners dont have the money.Id imagine that the power station shell if kept (not totally impossible to demolish) would be turned into shops or offices etc whilst the new ground would be built on some of the other parts derelict site. Liquidator 5,176
Just noticed you can go around the outside of Stamford Bridge in street view now. They have blurred out the player faces on the shed wall though

Fulham Broadway 17,512
Might as well stay where we are. Gourlay and Buck and the rest of the board are delusional, and will realise soon enough that the arse will fall out of football. Bubble is about to burst..Man Utd tickets and season tickets available on Ticketmaster now......
Liquidator 5,176
There is not enough demand for a stadium at the moment although there may be in 10 or so years time but that is a long way off.Yes we usually sell out pretty quickly but lets not forget that last summer Season Tickets were practically on general sale. Liverpool and Man U have thousands on their waiting lists and they have bigger stadiums than us. Every CL group game went on general sale this season too (although that may be due to the ridiculous price increases) and Swansea, Norwich, Wolves, Fulham (CC and league), Aston Villa have all had tickets go on general sale

Liquidator 5,176
So when is this naming rights deal that Gourlay supposedly struck in 2011 to be announced in 'early 2012' going to be revealed?
LDN Blue 7,903
So when is this naming rights deal that Gourlay supposedly struck in 2011 to be announced in 'early 2012' going to be revealed?I was reading about the Bundesliga's state of finances and I came across this;Bundesliga clubs claim that they wouldn't raise prices much even if they could. "I've asked many club officials: Why don't you increase ticket prices until the first seat remains vacant in the stadium?" said Frick. "Their first answer is always that they would lose money from sponsors, because they want to see full stadiums." That strategy is paying off. The Bundesliga is thought to be taking in more sponsorship money -- some $800 million annually -- than any other league. This science seems simple, yet the EPL & club seems adamant their strategy will work better. It's clearly not because our commercial revenue is poor***See ESPN's blog entry on the success of the Bundesliga here**See Swiss Ramble's latest post on Chelsea's numbers this last year here capriccioso and Rambo
