Mouri_Matic 560
He did a good job at Everton but im not sure it was the miracle work a lot make out, Everton are usually around the 7th biggest spenders in the league and usually finish around 7th. Roy Hodgson got Fulham from relegation to Europa league final and fucked up at Liverpool, Benitez wins titles with Valencia and never done it with Liverpool and plenty of other cases of good managers doing well at average clubs then fail at big clubs. Doubt that they are usually the 7th biggest spenders in the league, last 4 seasons their net transfer spend has been in profit. Not that I think he's performed some sort of a miracle at Everton, but he has done pretty well considering the budget. Don't think hell be able to deliver at Man Utd though.

Not much use reading too much into rumors until then although thats easier said than done and im as guilty of that as any

ChelseaFanUK 1,014
Either of these solutions:1. He doesn't really want to leave but doesn't exactly want to stay either, basically he is caught in 2 minds about his future2. Maybe it is all happening behind the scene. Maybe MU told him to be quiet and he will be allowed to move after they found a replacement3. His agent advices him to not rock the boat so MU will let him go eventually4. It was a farce as many said, we don't even want him and just put a bid in public to unsettle him and MU so we didn't contact him 1. Pretty much public knowledge he wants to leave, People will say "yeh but Rooney hasn't said this publicly" True, but he also hasn't denied any stories of wanting to leave and join Chelsea either, no smoke without fire.2. Sounds plausible, but I'd be more inclined to think he has been told if he has any chance of joining us, it'll be after the league game in August. (maybe this is why there is no TR, he knows he wont need one) And I said before I think he will not play3. His agent will have definitely spoke to Utd's board to inform them Rooney wants out, obviously knows more than the media so you could be right with what you said4. Definitely not, I wouldn't publicly confirm a bid for a player I don't want. That's just stupid. Mourinho loves Rooney, has done since he got interviewed at Madrid and said if Rooney ever wants to leave Utd, call me.Rooney will probs play every game for Utd from August 6th (sweden?), get fit, then if he joins i reckon deadline day blockbuster
Gilvorak 3,734
Fuck this cunt, if he wanted to leave he would submit a transfer request. Just looking for another pay day.£40m+ for someone who is earning £250k p/w, has been on a downward spiral these past couple of years, apparently wants out according to hacks and has only 2/3 years left at a high level. We would be a disgrace to pay that amount, there's a reason no other club is the least bit interested in him.Lukaku has the potential to become a beast with patience. I'd rather stick with him. Without doubt, he kept Everton competitive with very limited resources. Everton remained highly consistent during his tenure, usually improving ever so slightly. It's a hard feat, believe me. His resources were nowhere near what you said by the way. Now if you had said to me: "what has he won, in all those years?" Then you would have some basis for a potential weakness. JayC 171
Pretty much set on Suarez aint they?I'm pretty sure Wenger said himself they could afford Rooney, and want him. I think their main target is Suarez now though, but they'd want Rooney too if he did become available. A problem with both moves is Rooney's ego. Will he be happy enough at Arsenal? I doubt they'll be winning a CL anytime soon. Then there is Chelsea - he wouldn't be the best player there and a good chance he will have to compete for a place. Tomo 21,751
Assuming Rooney stays on 250k a week with us, his wage package will be £65m (assuming he gets a 5 year contract). So his overall contract and transfer package will be borderline (if not exceeding) £100mIf we got Cavani for £53m and paid him 150k a week, his overall package would be £92m. Barbara 15,149
I'm one of the biggest Mourinho's fan out there. I've followed his work for the past 9 yeas - although I was lucky he only managed teams I support -and he will always have my support. It doesn't mean he doesn't make mistakes. He does, like everyone else - he just does it less than the next guy That said, if Rooney comes (I really hope he doesn't), let's hope Mourinho isn't wrong on his assessment. I wouldn't even write it off that he doesn't have a real interest in Rooney and is just playing mind games because it doesn't make sense in my head that out of all the strikers in the world Mourinho seems so adamant about Rooney of all people. So maybe he's just trying to weaken a new manager in the biggest competition because when has Mourinho last been so clear and open about a signing? If this guy was the next (or current) big deal on football I'd get it, but Rooney? What's about Wayne Rooney that could make Mourinho behave like that? It has mind games written all over and maybe behind it there's a slight interest. But I think his main goal with this saga is weaken ManUtd and Moyes. If he really has an interest though, I guess he's coming from what I've said before: he must be really confident on his management skills and Rui Faria's magic in the physical training if he thinks that Rooney is what Chelsea need now. We need a striker, that's for sure. The best names are unavailable (Falcao, Lewa, Cavani). I think it's risky, maybe not as risky as Torres was back then, but risky nonetheless and Mourinho knows it, which is why I'm convinced he's mainly looking for weakening one of his strongest opposition - that already is in a odd/new situation to say the least. Sheva. 5,373
Most likely we won't get him - we haven't made a 2nd bid, he has done nothing to indicate he wants to leave. And Utd expect him back in training in August, just doesn't feel like anything is happening.Oh well, i've already resigned to having Torres, Lukaku and Ba till at least January. It's like killing two birds with one stone. Not only you get a decent striker (which we are in need of) but also will lower Utd's morale. IMO I think the priority is in the latter one.
