I find it funny how people think Rooney would be a good signing because he can play CAM, is good at passing and works hard by tracking back! LOL! Do people not realise we need a World Class striker? We are not looking for someone who can play CAM as we already have Mata, Hazard, Oscar and KdB who can play there! we also don't need a striker who is a good passer! as we have enough of those already! and we also don't need a striker who will chase a player back to his own area! That is why this signing makes no sense, I would much rather see Lukaku play front! who will actually give us what we need! rather than playing a CAM as our Striker! also the fact that Rooney is in decline and is injury prone! makes this whole transfer even more laughable than the Torres transfer!

I think Romelu will become 1st choice ahead of Rooney anyway, Rooney wont be fully fit for the Hull game and Lukaku will take his chance and keep his place in the team! I will laugh and cry so hard when this happens!

People don't think that though. They think he's a world class striker who also offers these other things to the team.

I'm all for giving Lukaku a chance and I've said that on many occasions, but if Rooney is actually available at this price and Jose thinks he can get him back to his form of 12 months ago (people tend to forget what he was like, or just choose to make shit up) then it's hard not to go for him.

Keep hearing that Rooney is in decline.... Yet he has scored over 45 goals in the last two seasons, last year he barely played up from yet still bagged a goal every other game. All this suggests is that Fergie rated Roobey over RVP, which isn't a bad call RVP is a monster, and Rooney can play deeper.

Then I hear he is injured.... He was out three times last year, none of his injuries were recurring and one was a bloody huge gash on his thigh. And even I he does miss the odd game, so what isn't that why you have a squad?

His ability can't be doubted (really don't care what you think, the footballing world disagrees with you), if Jose can reignite that passion and drive in him your getting a world class player for £25m, almost as much as some of you want us to splash on Bentenke. He was used as a striker just a season ago and scored 34 goals. Has he declined so much in the last 12 months that he's no longer capable of playing there? Has he lost that electric pace (which he never had in the first place)?

he is a striker who just combines and plays deeper. same as benzema. still nobody would say Benzema is a CAM. he is a striker. as is rooney. but rooney just offers more than standing in the box and scoring. look at his goal ratio...he mostly scored 20 goals or more. in 11/12 he scored like 26 or 27 goals...as a "CAM"

And the guy is a CF, much like messi, he drifts into gaps offering outlets to his midfield bringing others into the game. Point is he is world class, this last month Neynar, Hazard, Ferdinand and Mourinho have said just that....
