Cavani may be the better player, but he will cost in the region of £55 million. That's £20 million more than Costa, is he that much better? I'm not so sure. Also take into account his high wages. Costa is a no brainer for me, he may not be the better player but for the money we're spending on him I think its a great deal.

55mil? that a MAJOR understatement. i thought PSG themselves bought him for 60mil. with us ripping them off for luiz, they will atleast try to get us back a little. 65mil, will be minimum.

To other said Luiz was sold for almost that price. Not sure if the money is an issue here. Also Cavani is the safe option, he has a track record of good seasons in european leagues, and playing for Uruguai. Diego Costa has only one great season in his CV.

There's barely any "safe options" if you ask me.

His movement, the runs he makes, and the work rate he has where he helps all over the pitch is second to none among strikers. Truly the PERFECT José center forward.

We'd win the PL and CL with him leading our line. If it were up to me we'd break the bank for him. Don't care if it's £50m or £60m he'd be worth it. We have the cash.

I haven't seen a whole lot of him, but his movement and all that is good. Everything. Only thing he isn't top notch at is finishing. From what I've seen. As he showed earlier.

Sure, he may not have a 100% conversion rate but just look at the work he does. Drops deep in midfield to help out, drops back and defends where a fullback should be, and then still has the energy and hunger to play as a pure striker.

WE NEED A GOALSCORER! He misses to much for me, Costa had an amazing conversion rate.

Cavani is better than Costa. When he actually plays as the main striker he's one of the 2-3 best in the world.

No he's not. He's maybe top 10. But he's not much better than Costa. He just has high workrate and disappears in big games.

You've clearly not watched him much with that statement.

He was EASILY better than Costa in his Napoli days when he was the main man. It was genuinely hard to separate him and Falcao as the 2 best pure strikers in the world a couple of years ago.

Anyways, I'd be happy if we signed Costa but over the moon with Cavani. Not happening but I can dream. Think Costa will score around 20 league goals for us next season. Cavani would score many more I think, though.

Nope, I haven't seen him much. But there's a HUGE difference between playing with Napoli and Chelsea. Messi, Zlatan, Falcao, Lewandowski, Suarez, Aguero, Van Persie, etc. Are all better imo.
