Vardy this season from 0 to hero. D:

Played a key role in their Premier-League survival, great finish of the season, but our legend couldn't see what's coming, despite of being on the big bucks, lolz.

After watching that matcharrow-10x10.png, and although its only 1 match, it looks like its going to be a while before we go back to where we where a decade ago.

From the entire England startingarrow-10x10.png 11, the only contribution from Chelsea is Gary Cahill who is not even the favored first choice for the club. Chelsea back in 2004-2007 almost always had 4 England regulars in the startingarrow-10x10.png 11. Mentality and attitude towards games were obviously better for it.

023 - Florence Hardouin elected as female representative on UEFA Executive Committee

The Football Federation of Kosovo (FFK) was admitted as the 55th member association of UEFA with immediate effect after a vote at the 40th Ordinary UEFA Congress in Budapest.

A simple majority was needed for the FFK to become a member and it received 28 votes in favour, with 24 votes against and two invalid votes cast.

"I welcome our 55th member," said UEFA General Secretary ad interim Theodore Theodoridis. "It was a very democratic process, and very open discussions [took place] between the national associations. We respect the result of the Congress [vote]."

Florence Hardouin (France) was elected as the female member on the UEFA Executive Committee for the 2016-19 period, receiving 33 votes against the 21 votes received by Karen Espelund (Norway).

"I'm proud and delighted," the 49-year-old French Football Federation (FFF) general manager said after the election. "It's a great honour for myself, for France and for the French federation. A lot of challenges lie ahead, and I hope to bring to UEFA the experiences that we are gathering with the organisation of UEFA EURO 2016. I also hope to contribute to continuing the development of women's football."

The UEFA Congress ratified the list of members of the UEFA Organs for the Administration of Justice and the list of members of the UEFA Governance and Compliance Committee for the period 2015-2019, as appointed by the UEFA Executive Committee on 29 June 2015.

Finally, several amendments to the UEFA Statutes were approved.

About the team I'd line up for England. Maybe Ross Barkley for Alli or Wilshere, Clyne for Walker and Smalling for Stones. But may God forbid Rooney to play any part in that team. His lack of pace and sharpness would completely destroy this England teams nice flow and directness. Rooney is by far the worst striker England got in their squad and should not even be in it IMO. I'd rather have Andy fuckin Carrol who at least offers something differently being about the greatest aerial threat in Europe would offer a viable plan B.

What about Rooney in midfield where he's been playing recently?

He is a good makeshift but I'd much rather have a true no 10 there, someone like barkley or alli or even Sterling who still have a lot to give for England. Apart from that I am a bit irritated by the lack of wingers. Instead he always has milner , delph, rooney, lallana who are completely  useless. I can see why Woy selected 4 similar, pacy and error prone fullbacks tho. Because they have no wingers those have to provide the width. Running all day long will increase their injury probability.

England's strength clearly is their attack. Most countries true struggle to find only one pure in form striker. Hence they shoud complement them. Hence my pick would be a narrow, flat 442

             Hart

Clyne small Cahill Rose

         Dier.   Wilshire

Alli/Sterling,.          Barkley

   Vardy.               Kane.

Sure, Sterling, alli and Barkley have no clue about intelligent playmaking,t the point about their free roles is that they can roam around with the ball like they always do and create space for Vardy and Kane to run into.

The average rest picks itself.

Internationals: Young Lions reach Toulon final

Quote

A 1-0 win over Japan secured their place at the top of Group B following four wins from four. Lewis Baker, John Swift and Kasey Palmer started for the young Lions against the Japanese. Two days previously, a brace from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and a goal from Baker helped Southgate’s side to a confident 4-0 win over Paraguay. The Chelsea influence was strong once again in the final group game in the south of France. Swift was brought down inside the box after 15 minutes, having burst in from the right flank, winning his second penalty of the tournament. Baker stepped up from 12 yards out and dispatched the spot-kick with great confidence and precision, taking him joint-top of the tournament’s top goalscorers list with three goals.Swift went close with a free-kick that dipped just wide after the break, while both sides also struck the crossbar in the second period. Loftus-Cheek replaced Baker at the interval, with Nathaniel Chalobah rested from the 18-man matchday squad.

The win sets up a meeting with hosts France in the final this Sunday 29 May. Both sides have won all their games at the tournament, with England having conceded just once in four matches. The last time an England side reached the final at Toulon was back in 1994, when they won the trophy with a 2-0 win over Portugal.
