Ramires

Selling Ramires is just plain silly, unless it's like for like and a 'better' version of him. The idea of a swap for Modric may sound tempting but in our squad, we need variation of players. Not more similar or same ones and Ramires currently offers things that other players do not.

Ramires may not be the most elegant type of player but his work rate and 100 percent commitment on both halves of the pitch will be something which the team will need.

His energy and versatility will really help us next season.

What does he offer that other players do not? That argument was valid two years ago. The work rate and stamina of this team has drastically changed since Mou came back.

We have a very energetic team, the signing of Costa and Luis will further add to that.

He was very valuable when we had a less mobile dm in mikel and Lampard old legs. While our forwards like Mata and Sturridge did little off the ball(defensively). This side doesn't need Ramires, the only argument is we need a replacement. There is Tiago who is available for free or Paulinho for a fraction of Ramires transfer sale.

He would be much more useful to Madrid and a better fit.

Today France will be in action and Pogba will probably start this one, so anyways if he has a good game then please do not criticise Ramires by saying that we should have the young Frenchman instead.

Ramires will stay here and I highly doubt our club will spend 40m+ on him or that Juventus will even sell him. We can not always get the young talents.

Just because we suddenly have a team that has good workrate and stamina, doesn't mean all the players have turned into Ramires!

I view Ramires in a similar mould to Essien. Great workrate, stamina and energy. We need players like that to complement the technical players within the team. We basically need a water carrier and Ramires is that as he has a specific skill set that not many others have. Like The Skipper alluded to above, it's almost as if people have a short term memory loss or something. Had Ramires been playing like he did before last season, nobody would have wanted him sold but because he's had one-half of rubbish season, people want him out already. Anybody who have seen Ramires at his best would know what he can do and gives to the team. Those who questioned are basing it only on his performances last season. And I'm sorry, if anyone thinks Paulinho or even Tiago(a 33-year old player!) is an upgrade of sorts on Ramires, then that's quite frankly laughable.

The technical players don't need Ramires to compliment them that is my point.

Essien was a complete player, the word complete can never be used to describe Ramires.

Never said Tiago and Paulinho were upgrades. Both both can be argued are better especially as pivot players.
