Luka Modric

Would it though? That just means the player forsakes a signing on bonus so the club keep the 10% the player would get, depending on agreements.

Its Levy we're talking about here..

Wasn't it reported a little while ago that that cunt Levy would reject any bids from Chelsea? He'd allow Luka to move to United if the right offer came in, but refuses to do business with us.

Could have been fabricated. Wouldn't put it past that bald bastard, though.

Oh c'mon we all know Levy's nationality and we all know what they only crave for, whoever pays more will get him. (well ofcourse if we pay 35 and Utd too he will sell him to Manchester)

Even though it might not be necessary, think about it long term. One thing i hate is this obsession with Josh, the kid is still like 19 and isn't ready yet which isn't a big deal. Cleverley is making it at united at the age of 21 and Josh still has a lot of maturing to do physically. in terms of CM's we currently have:

Lamps, Mikel, Romeu, Meireles, Essien, Ramires, KDB, Josh. By next summer i think both Meireles and Essien will both be gone (Essien probably going this summer) and KDB and Josh are both likely to go on loan too. That would leave us with the options for this coming season as Lampard, Mikel, Romeu, Ramires, Meireles. Adding in someone like Modric is a bit of a luxury, but in the long term would be brilliant as Lampard can't play every game and is slowing down

I don't want Modric. I would prefer a commanding central midfielder in the Yaya Toure / Michael Essien (before the injuries) mould.

Fellaini, maybe.

The gap between Lamps and Josh is too big, but if u look at Modric (26) at the time Luca will be 30-31, Josh will be 24-25 which is the perfect age for a player in his position.

24-25? One year on loan playing first team football in the prem or championship could be the difference. Look at Wilshere (before Arsenal's top medical team got their hands on him).

IF Josh become great earlier than what I've said and we have Modric is that problem?(atleast its a good problem)But real problem is us left with 50 yrs old Lampard and mediocre Meireles, and what if Josh need more time ?I think we should dfinately adress CM position with a good signing (rather if it will be Modric or some1 else). As far as I remember everytime we played a decent team last season we got completely OWNED in midfield, this is fuking disaster for a top team like us.

I'm glad that we've got prospects in and around the place in the reserves/out on loan etc. but I think far too many people get ahead of themselves for Josh, he hasn't shown hardly anything in terms of ability to step up, has he had the chance? Yes he's had a few chances and he has not stepped up.

Loan to Swansea didn't go to plan but it makes me think that Brendan would have given him more chances if he was capable, especially at home but the matches he did play in he wasn't very good at all.

Perhaps this is a snipe, but perhaps less time going out with Sinclair and his corrie mrs and more time spent on the training ground..

See Ryan Bertrand.

If we get Pep to be our manager, could Luka Modric play the Xavi role in his tactics? The guys we are adding seem to be guys who could fit in Pep's system. Wonder if you we are trying to get these guys to further convince Pep to manage us.

First of all can people stop talking about Josh. He's still too young and wont have a regular starting place for at least 2 years i would say. He's just not there and he isnt good enough atm to have that kind of responsibility.

Secondly, this mostly depends on what formation and tactics we will play. Dont forget that we still have Mikel, Lampard, Essien, Meireles and even Luiz who could play in those positions and if both Mikel and Meireles stay it would be stuipid to buy someone for that position. The same goes for the AM and wingers, we've got Ramires, Mata, Marin, Hazard, Malouda...

Lets not get crazy here..

I say let him suffer in that hell hole of spuds! He should have come here when we were after him last season. Now he should suffer when we are in the CL next season and have plenty of options in the transfer market whom are better than him anyway.

Levy said no!!

Lets see if he forces a move to Chelsea, but maybe he'll pick Madrid over us or he could do the smart thing and just decide to play for Chelsea. If he's happy with life in London then there is a high probability of him joining us in the summer.Just hope the fee is in the 20 region.Anything above 30m would be an absolute waste.

Can't see Arsenal forking out for him, or Tottenham selling to Arsenal for that matter...........And I can't see Fulham/West Ham going for him
