Diego Simeone is well aware Chelsea has monitored him for months as they prepare an offensive to hire him. (El Confidencial) #CFC #Atletico

"If Jose leaves, what coach is as competitive as him?" The answer of Roman's executives were unanimous & adamant:"Simeone" (El Confidencial)

Chelsea commissioned a senior executive of the club to follow, evaluate & try to hire the Argentine coach Simeone. (El Confidencial) #CFC

The 2 problems to #CFC are not hidden: language & Simeone's contract, binding him to Atletico until June 2020 but perfectly salvageable (EC)

Simeone already receives private English lessons and could arrive at Stamford Bridge with an acceptable level of English. (El Confidencial)

Barbara is right, Cadena SER and ABC.es are the BBC and Sky Sports of Spain. The likes of El Confidencial, COPE, Onda Cero, laSexta come right next.

El Confidencial is similar to The Times. Very solid. The thing is they are very reliable when it comes to Real Madrid and Atletico and somehow know what's happening behind closed doors at those clubs.

El Confidencial was the first to announce Diego Costa and Filipe Luis to Chelsea, months before, maybe half an year before things started to heat up. Also they were first to announce that Courtois will be recalled from Atletico and given Cech's place, plus a new contract.

Read that article myself and it's interesting. Not that much information, probably because they've just found out about this news and negociations are in the early stages. But I think it's the first time that a reputable outlet goes that far to saying Simeone is really interested in the job.

If Simeone is interested in the Chelsea job, I hope he demands a blank cheque to invest in the players that he wants to bring in and clear the bloody decks before signing anything.

That's probably the most common stereotype in Spanish press when it comes to deals involing Spanish players and English clubs. Mostly when those players want new contracts :) Or the news is complete bollocks :) Messi has had English lessons prior to his "move" to Chelsea. Ramos has had English lessons prior to his "move" to United. Neymar has had English classes etc. etc. You know what I mean. They love to throw you this bait. It's mostly used by the low life outlets (Marca, Sport, Mundo Deportivo), but you never know. Maybe this time El Confidencial actually mean business by saying it.

I wonder if top players would look at Allegri and want to come to Chelsea and play for him. If he has great pulling power or not.

If, for instance, a player is wanted by all the top English sides would they choose a CL-less Chelsea over Pep/Mou/Wenger? This is what my first concern is with Allegri. With Simeone I don't think it's a problem at all. I think the recruitment would be top notch with him.

Allegri might have some limitations when it comes to pulling power but the Board must open the coffers to the tune of a couple of hundred million pounds if they are serious to be title challengers again.  Spending lots of cash on transfer fees and wages will attract quality players to the Bridge regardless of competition from other clubs or not being in the CL.

Making insulting offers of 20 million pounds for Stones and pretending to bid for the likes of Pogba and Marquinhos while really going after has been so and never weres - if this is repeated again this summer, it will piss me off big time.

So much useless rumours now. Allegri, not Allegri, Conte, not Conte, Simeone, not Simeone. Pogba, Dybala, Griezmann, Koke. We are gonna buy everyone from the club manager comes. Like AVB bought every Porto player in 2011... Waste of time.

Then we will have to be more astute, their will be players out there who can improve us, look at the difference Alderwierld made at Spurs.

Also its not like our team need a complete overhaul, unlike 2012 we already have top player's here, a few astute signings to be restore depth and order could be all we need to challenge again if we keep the best players.
