Some italian journo with a verified tag on Twitter and a Conte avi said it's Conte. Who to believe? I'd  prefer Antonio, though. Seems more tactically astute and the desire with him is obvious.

Hiddink is the perfect manager for next season. Some people don't realize this team is in chaos. There won't be european football next season, and there will be a HUGE pressure to get a top 4 finish again, and that won't be easy by any means. To be honest, at this point I'm pretty sure some of those names linked with the job: Conte, Allegri, Sampaoli, all of them have a big chance of not even surviving an entire season. I also beleive at this point giving Simeone the job is a huge risk, we can't burn this option at this point.

Its not a situation where the new manager will get a solid squad, and a team that finished 3rd in the league, but a team that lack depth, don't even have a proper playing style, with a average RB still playing as a LB, where he can't even cross, and an aging CB playing as a RB, and two average players as the only options for DM.

Next season the main goal is to build the foundations for upcoming seasons and a provisional manager like Hiddink is the best option. We know he is not staying  for the long term and there won't be any silly dream about a manager that can create a dinasty (weird obessession, probably created by SAF success). After one season or two, we can go after a proper new manager.

This is all true, but would the board really back Hiddink with the money and signings necessary to get us competing for the top 4 knowing that he wouldn't be here long? We need someone with a long term vision ASAP that can begin implementing their style right away, not another season in limbo.

Some players are finished here. Whole club is going to be restructured. There will be a lot of changes so there's no problem to have a manager with fresh approach.

I don't like it.

Conte was the better choice. As it was Conte that build the current Juventus not Allegri.

This just show me now that our board are a bunch of clueless clowns, that can't find a manager to build the foundation for this team. They just went with allegri only because he got to the CL final last season.... Didn't learn from rdm it seems.

Stupid board, Chelsea will now go to the dull drums and will be like Liverpool.

I think this is just a baseless rumour.

By all accounts Sampaoli and Conte have been the bookies favourites and for good reason.

Sampaoli is hot stuff and is free to join tomorrow if he wanted. Conte, too, is free to start after euros.

Allegri is a better manager than Conte. People can prefer Conte's more famous name if they want but even Juve fans will agree that Allegri is better.

On a side note, we have become such a small-minded club haven't we? From signing players like Pato and Miazga to playing a pivot of Matic and Mikel against Watford!

That right there is why I'm ok with not winning the league for 1 or 2 seasons if it is for the means of bringing in a manager who'll make us play like a top side again. The entire club is surrounded by negativity and conservatism, therefore positivity is what we need most.  If some still want to play the underdog role then fair enough, but it won't get the club anywhere.

1-2 seasons without the league? I'd take that in a heartbeat. The decisions made at the club right now are scaring me that we'll be without Europe for 2-3 seasons. I'd be fine with this timeline:

2015/16 get into the top half of the table and get to the final of the FA Cup

2016/17 get back into the top four to get back into the Champions League, but for sure finish in the top 6 with a developing philosophy and a plan for all of the youngsters in our system. Keep the great ones, loan out the good prospects and get rid of the ones that will never play in the Chelsea shirt

2017/18 get back to challenging for the title, hopefully with a new philosophy set in place and a clear direction for the future

2018/19 win the title and giving the fingers to everyone

This season has shown that our success/failure is not just down to the manager. There is disconnect between all aspects of this club and it will take significant time to repair these disconnects.
