The Next Manager?

@Reddish-Blue- couldn’t agree more. I still have regrets when thinking of that Lukaku interview. It completely ruined our whole season, not just his career at Chelsea.

As per Mudryk, I am quite convinced that he will never make it at Chelsea. He needed to get into a well-oiled team, just like Arsenal, for him to hit the ground running in a new country and league. We are wasting his talent and he will never be able to make it, considering also the pressure of the price tag.

I think I am way in the minority but I think bringing Lamps back to the end of the season (and no longer) makes sense for him and us. If we win a few games it repairs his profile and if we don’t he can say it wasn’t his squad and he was only helping out short-term. From Chelsea’s viewpoint I would rather him than Potter and My understanding is Saltor never wanted to do the job .

I still think the guy who wants sacking is whoever signed off the deals for Cucu,Sterling,Mudryk ( on evidence so far),messed up the Ziyech transfer,Koulibally etc etc. All bang ordinary on massive long term contracts — if it wasn’t so sad it would be a joke

Lets get one thing clear, personally, for me, there was no point in having an interim from outside GP’s coaching staff because the seasons been dead rubber since it started so why give someone else the 10-12 games or whatever. The time to have sacked Potter was months and months ago - the top brass at the club knew it was clearly too. Or they would have just seen the season out for all thats left of it.

This is basically a publicity stunt, a ploy by Boehly to try restore some sort of faith/good publicity in him and Clearlakes strategy but it is ludicrous. And there will be the % of folk who thought Frank was unfortunate to get sacked the first time round now falling for it.

It really just slows down any chances of any manager coming in and evaluating the squad first hand (which again, seasons done in the league for us, it would be a perfect chance for a manager to lay some building blocks or experiment in the league with some minor ideas/systems/personnel/combinations prior to pre season). It could also put doubt/unnecessary pressure on the board and even the next guy in the door if somehow Frank does well and say wins the CL (surely not).

If they sacked Potter months ago, it would of been better and made more sense than appointing another manager for say 2 months. This club has been a laughing stock since the season started and Boehly is hugely culpable because more or less the way this season has unfolded, was because of decisions he has made - extremely poorly may I add.

Not pushing to keep Marina and Cech in place to he could properly identify and recruit others to take their roles on was the first big one as they had a good working relationship with Tuchel. It was clear Boehly didn’t in that role. I get Rome wasn't built in a day but you’d think that trying to retain some sort of structure to your better prepared to replace people would make sense.

Sacking Tuchel & hiring Potter - I mean do we need to say anymore.

Then not sacking Potter months ago - again, needless to say anymore.

Now delaying any managerial appointment by appointing a caretaker manager to mainly save face or buy time because he acted hastily in ditching the original coach at the beginning of the season….

The irony is that these people were quick to sack Tuchel and appoint Potter

Now all of a sudden they've grown a conscience and want to take things slowly with the next appointment.

Someone on the board must be a Spurs fan.

I dont think they know what they're doing...and probably why they're being slow cause they're clueless...which is why I expect the appointment to be completely bonkers

That was Boehly under the advice of Tuchel. Tuchel probably picked the targets with a team and Boehly negotiated the contracts over wonderful food. So they are both to blame but Clearlake is here for more than 9 more years.

Seen a lot of previous managers being linked, but truthfully Sarri is the only one i would consider. We have a bunch of players just playing individually, wouldn't happen under Sarri.

He has done a fantastic job at Lazio.

Yep, huge Sarri fan. He did very good here with 3rd place, EL win and Cup final losing on pens. And even he said he needs 2,3 seasons for his football. In Napoli improvement season by season 82, 86, 91 points plus they played most beautiful football. In Chelsea and Juventus he got only one season. And now in Lazio when given time you see huge improvement. Comfortably 2nd on table ahead of Inter, Milan, Roma with way inferior side. Really wonder what would happened if he stayed here 3 seasons.

You say that like he wasn't bailed out by Hazard's brilliance throughout the course of the season.

What we have lacked for a number of seasons is leadership on the pitch and that is costing us massively this season.  Other than Thiago Silva and Azpi, I can't name a single player in our first team who has shown any form of leadership this season.

Sarri mentioned multiple times during his stay at Chelsea that he was never going to stay in England long term as he misses Italy too much.

Real shame we are wasting time with Lampard. Make no mistake this will set us back next year when the new manager needs until Christmas to see the players in action and understand who is up to what.

Personally wish we would just appoint Enrique and call it a day, or even Poch would be fine. Not sold on Nags who just seems like a German Graham Potter to me.

Hazard arguably had his best year under Sarri. We actually showed great combination play and linkup. You are just a blind hater.

Bro leadership has very little to do with the fact we don't have any coherent tactics. Watch Arsenal and City, and how every player seems in sync; from the player with ball and without it.

We have scored 29 goals in the PL, no leadership is going to fix that.

We actually miss Jorghinho tbh.

So Lampard was harshly sacked but Tuchel was not? 🤣 These two guys should really stay away from any footballing decisions. They don't have a clue. Boehly is what 22% owner of Lakers, play off is starting in a couple of days, he should focus on that.

When I say leadership, I mean understanding the context/situation of the game and making an impact.    Go look at Arsenal and City again, interesting how their key midfielders in Odegaard, De Bruyne are in leadership roles for their national teams.   The difference is, these guys can sense the moment to switch gears and they can control the tempo of the team's offense.

Whereas look at our midfield and Kovacic looks like he's not that interested, Kante is still re-gaining his fitness and Felix was meant to be the player to help unlock our attack but it looks like his loan spell will go down as a massive flop (unless he finishes the season with multiple goals).
