This will mean we will have 4 different coaches within 1 year.

We have more coaches in 1 year than Tottenham has trophies in the last 50 years.

Tuchel, Potter, this interim guy... who is the fourth?

It is not as unrealistic as you are making it out to be.

Real, City are not leading in their league. Bayern are leading by 2 points and have changed their manager. None of them seem invincible and an inferior Chelsea team won the competition in 2021.

The comparison with 2020-21 is unrealistic.
We were much much better then, not good enough to win the premier but beat Man. City 3 times out of 4.
I agree there is really nothing to look forward to in the current season -our chances against bothr Real and City/Bayern are infinitessimal- but at least we can have a decent manager.

Looking back to last August the season started terribly.
Fresh from the Abramovitch adventure, Rudiger goes, basically we brought three new defenders Koulibaly-Cucurella-Fofana who did n't shine all that much really and the attack was not stregthened at all (Aube is a Joke, like Pato).
So Tuchel finds himself in a corner does n't know what to do and we had some ridiculous results, Zagreb, Leeds and some others.
Up to January I don't fancy Tuchel doing any better than Potter did - but he might have won that easy CL group just like Potter did.
After January and the new players we brought Potter showed his utter incompetence (Southampton-Fulham-Spurs-Everton-Villa ...). There were the injuries too but one cannot find any justification for him, no sign of any improvement whatsoever.
Now all we can do from now till May is to experiment.

You can't really say we had an inferior side in 2021 when Jorginho-Kante-Kovacic was a very solid trio, Mount was flying and we also had Rudiger/Christensen at the back.

Fofana/Badiashile/Koulibaly haven't shown that they are capable of producing the same level of performances as Rudiger/Christensen on a consistent basis.

The only real upgrade from that 2021 side would be Enzo & Sterling (if he is used properly).

Ruben Amorim should be our 1st choice to replace Potter, in my opinion.

He is great tactically, won plenty of stuff as a player and manager, and is well respected by his players.

Too risky in our current situation. I've no doubt he's miles better than potter though

Sure, but I cannot think of an option that doesn't involve a risk.

I would argue that Nagelsmann is even more of a risk, considering his very recent past + his age. I am not saying that we should go for an old guy (Amorim is 38 btw), but I find it hard to believe that a guy like Nagelsmann can impose himself in a locker room in which you can find Thiago Silva, Kante, Azpilicueta etc. I know this shouldn't be a thing, but you just know that as soon as things get a bit bad, players lose respect for a manager that is so young. You just need a bit of experience and attitude to succeed at Chelsea. Or Bayern.

Luis Enrique is very underwhelming for me. His last decent gig was at Barcelona almost 10 (!) years ago.

I don't know, Amorim seems to fit a lot of boxes, more than any other option.

Silva is very professional and wouldn't undermine , azpi may well be gone and rarely starts . Kante is quiet as a mouse.

Can't see anyone causing major problems because we have a young squad. Only the likes of Lukaku but he can be shipped off for peanuts

Nagelsmann is probably more experienced than Amorim overall despite being a bit younger.

On the one hand it makes sense to get Naglesmann in immediately if that’s who the board sees as their guy. But waiting until the end of the season opens up the coaching search to managers who are actually employed currently and may be tempted by a new challenge. You never know if some big name manager may fancy working with our ridiculous squad.

What if someone totally unexpected becomes possible in the summer?
