So basically if they win tomorrow and offer him a new deal during the euphoria and celebrations he'll stay.

If they wanted to do that they would already. It is almost September. Ligue1 starts today!

Ok, this may sound stupid, but I did small research on Silva with the help of Fifa and PES ratings from history. He was fast, and I mean FAST defender. I get that he is 35 now, but he probably kept some of that pace even now and is faster or fast the same as an average 26-yo central defenders (faster than Dunk for sure).

This is why I am not worried. He used to be one of the fastest CBs around and has kept himself fit. It is the strain of playng twice per week that is getting to him rn and he still looks the best defender in the CL final rounds tourney. He needs to be managed carefully but he could give us so much in terms of experience and football IQ. Zouma, Rüdi, Zouma are fairly quick so he can just tell them where to run basically lol.

Exactly. I have a good feeling about this potential transfer.

I do not think that those guys are available.
If he is a decent defense coach, why not.

Is he? Can't find anything so far but a quick check on FM and it says he specializes in Attacking.

Does anyone know how many goals from set pieces Wigan conceded from?

according to whoscored defending set pieces is one of their major weaknesses :D

Only read Twitter reports that he is a defense coach haha.

I expected that if we sign a new coach, it has to be a new defense coach. A new GK coach would also make sense

AND avoiding fouling in dangerous areas...

Hard to imagine this has anything to do with coaches... I mean manager can say: do not make stupid fouls in dangerous area... And that is all, it is up to players...
