I just knew and have been saying for days that the target we’d eventually go for would be completely surprising and out of the blue. Palmer is a name not a single person who follows football could’ve guessed. When you think about it, with the fees we should be getting for Trev, CHO, and the several million in loan fees for Lukaku & Cucu we won’t really be spending much, if any on our new attacking signing. I'm all for promising talents being signed mainly by someone with a good eye for youngsters, but at some point, you need players that have a 90%+ chance of delivering the goods from the get-go. The player he is most similar IMO is Kai but the Leverkusen one. He has the same swagger and elegance with ability for spectacular goals but is lanky and weak af. Good end speed but average acceleration and balance. What palmer hopefully offers is goals. He has scored in about every match on development and youth level and also in the two super cup games this season but never in PL. At age 21 he is a gamble mostly bc of how little he has played. Kai at that age already had over 100 pro games. I hope Palmer still has the Hunger after winning CL and PL as bit part player but if he wants the move he probably has.
