Lots of muppets on here who were in support of this.

Hold my hands up.. I was one of those clowns...we were just desperate for t to work... we needed a striker but we all knew deep down that we were fooling ourselves.

Theres no shame in that we all(For the most part) were all for this because Lukaku on his day is quality and was what we needed.

It hasn't worked out but its really down to his attitude. No question about his quality on his day.

No not really, he also failed at United. He is not good enough for a top side and low block. He is the ultimate flat track bully.

Some people still don’t get it.

No he was guaranteed to fail bc the picture he has of himself is and never was in line with what he is. He thinks of himself as some kind of one man counter attack that steamrolls through defenses and gets in a finish (which proved somewhat accurate in Serie A but never in PL) while TT thought of him as a classic target man which also was off. This coincided in him being misused but this does not excuse his extreme wastefulness which ultimately is due to his lack of quality. So while without his terrible attitude and the tactical mismatch I still think he would never have been good enough to ake us challenge for the title.

Is he going to show up in empty facilities as everyone is gone to USA? We are the only top-tier team capable of such circus 😂

May be that Conte is the one who knows how to get to him. It was obvious he won't excel in PL as he somehow managed in Serie A, but if he at least tried, he still could be of some use with his physicality. In Conte-less Inter he seemed as indifferent as when in here. And apparently he still can't find his place, as he thought Inter is the one, but apparently not at all.

I totally disagree about his quality, for me he was never good enough for the top level, a good top flight level scorer at a club like Everton was his ceiling.

But even if we ignore that, hindsight can't be used about the attitude, his lack of character has been an open secret for a decade, we had an in house example already for god sake.

Still can't believe we're dragging on the Caicedo negotiations.   Surely we could have moved for an alternative midfielder by now.

Either that or the football boffins up stairs don’t have an alternative which is even worse.

To have shifted Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic and RLC in the last 12 months and having only Enzo as a new midfield player in that time is a pretty poor transfer strategy. Hopefully we seal the Caicedo deal (price will be ridiculous though either way) and another good level, experienced midfielder at least and soon to make their integration smoother. We will be in big trouble if we do not.

Alternative means Plan B. Why opting for a plan B if plan A is possible?

Im just mad that we didnt go for Rice. All other so called alternatives like Thuram or Kone or stuff are ass.

We tried to move for Ugarte but then PSG overpowered us for him and for whatever reason we still haven't put in a bid for Lavia (who will be a star for years to come in the PL)

Now the rumors of Arsenal going back in for Caicedo (if they sell Partey to Saudi League)...once again, the club has shown zero planning when it comes to getting transfers done early!

Arsenal wanted a midfielder, they got Rice, Newcastle got Tonali, United got Mount, Liverpool got MacAllister and likely to get Lavia/Thuram/someone else into their midfield

Why is it only us struggling to sign any midfielders and giving them as much time as possible to settle into Poch's tactics?
