What is the point of Ake or Kimpembe when we have Colwill?

You know he is 19 and at least last seson was injured quite often?

Honestly, Colwill is a talent but people are overhyping him beyond belief. Colwill has never played a minute in the PL. He did very well but he did not player every game for them. Kimpembe has been playing in Europe and for a top team for several years. Ake has been a prem player for solid years. There is no comparison. Now if we play Colwill and he looks out his depth, then what? Colwill can still get opportunites regardless.

It's going to be funny or sad, depending which way you look at it, when we see who we end up with come September, having been linked with every Tom, Dick, and Harry.

Tbh the only players we haven't been linked with is a Thomas a Richard or Harry lol.

Sterling £45m

Raphinha £55m

De Jong £56.2m

Kimpembe £51m

De Ligt £76m

Fantastic window tbh.

One can dream and I wouldn't dream for too long because it will feel even worse when we end up with only 2 of those players.

El Chelsea se lanza a por De Jong en las negociaciones por Azpilicueta y Marcos Alonso (sport.es)

The English club is in the process of signing the midfielder in an operation in which they could include the two full-backs. They have also asked about Memphis and in the past there has already been interest in Dest although the main target is De Jong.

Between Barça and United there is no type of closed agreement because Barça wants to enter 80 million euros for the footballer. Chelsea's option would be a possibility since the London club could pay around 60 million euros, plus Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso. The Blaugrana club has only listened, but prefers cash at the moment without sharing operations.

The coach is capable of convincing De Jong because he would live in London, very different from Manchester, and would play in the Champions League in a project that can qualify for all titles.

What would people make of this squad after the Summer window:

GK: Mendy, Kepa/GK2, Bettinelli

CB: MDL, Silva, Ake, Trev, Colwill

WB: James, D.Sterling, Chilwell, Emerson/Maatsen

CM: Kova, Kante, FDJ, Gallagher

AM: Sterling, Mount, Werner, Puli, CHO

CF: Havertz, Broja

Personally, I am not a fan of Ake but can see him as a obtainable player.

Absolutely no way Dujon Sterling is good enough to be our backup on the right

We'd need an extra body in midfield but that could always quite easily by RLC. To be honest in the case of Gallagher I don't really know where he fits in our current formation.

We definitely in my opinion need to find better options in the full back/wing back roles after how our season fell apart last year when James and Chilwell got crocked. Having a genuine right back option also allows James at times to play in the back 3 or even in midfield too. I'd worry if James and Chilwell were missing for an extended run, that those options above would not suffice.

Some of the players that do look possible in those positions don't cost a fortune either. Personally my choices would be Djed Spence and David Raum and I still don't think the two combined would be much more than £50m. But given the figures being reported Clauss and Cornet could be bought for roughly a combined £25m and they would present a significant upgrade on Sterling and Emerson.

Spence will go Spurs. He goes straight into the team while here he is a back up.

If we played 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 which seems a huge possibility, defo a role for Gallagher playing in the midfield 3 or in the advanced attacking position rotating with Mount.

Yeah I agree re: Spence, it'd be hard to sell to him if Spurs want him as first choice.

And agree with the 4-3-3, with a genuine DM you could in some games potentially play Mount and Gallagher as twin 8's. The problem is the makeup of our midfield currently doesn't really allow for this and it might end up being next summer that this is worked on properly if Kante and Jorginho leave. I don't think De Jong would happen personally, although I wouldn't turn him down.

I do actually agree. I have said elsewhere that WB is a major concern, however I think it is also optimistic to find people of adequate quality who are going to be happy to play as a back-up.

RWB does have a bit if scope however, as I would personally move James to RCB as I think he would be better there than RWB. However, I am still pretty high on Livra and hope he comes back from his ACL ok. If he does, I am more than happy to wait for him rather than take a risk on someone with only Champo experience. Additionally, some of the AM's can cover RWB in the mean time. This is obviously not perfect but I rather we get the right players when we can, rather than jump the gun.

LWB is more of an issue, I am not sure Cornet for instance will come as he'll have a lot of takers in the league from Tier 2 -3 and he would still be able to play further forward. This position however does need to be addressed in the market, it is more that I don't see a viable option.

Tbh, my post was more about signing 4 players (GK2 is not really a major purchase) as six seems a little unlikely atm and by integrating the youth boys' it plays into the Dodgers strategy.

That said, I think Gallagher gets quite a lot of minutes in a 343. I personally think he'll take a fair share of Kante's load.
