Based on recent games, I'd say Neto is. Madueke has been shoved to the left & looks lost most of the time. I think the supposed "dislike" is more frustration and his limited skill set.

I think frustration with Madueke is largely down to his attitude and selfishness. He has basically one move which is put his head down, cut inside and whip away a shot - 1 move he clearly practices over and over. He's surprisingly not THAT good at it for someone who clearly does nothing else and just practices this one thing over and over. That sort of bloody mindedness could pay off one day and he could become a very good player, but it seems like he's years away from it if he ever gets there.

Incidents like him (and NJ) fighting over the penalty that was clearly Cole's to take, just goes to show the character along with this sort of selfish and one dimensional approach to the game in which he at all times is the main character. Ronaldo vibes without Ronaldo results (yet).

I think he's a hard guy to like from that perspective but I do see the vision for project Madueke and I could imagine us at some point regretting selling him if he just spends years grinding at the cut inside and finish move like he has been, it also took Mo Salah ages to put it all together to become the player he is now and not impossible Noni could take a big step forward later too - but we are not in a position to just sit on unlimited players forever, those who do not thrive within a few years have to be moved on here, whether we regret it later or not. Our whole business model relies on us moving on players like Madueke regularly.

Chelsea and Strasbourg are considering loaning Mike Penders. Discussions are ongoing regarding the 19-year-old Belgian goalkeeper.

(@LeMechenoua)

it seems as if Ben Roberts has prevailed again and his son remains the No.1 seed!!!🤬

Sorry to be blunt, but I hate the Salah comparison at times. He had major European performances prior to making the move (scored the winner against us in Switzerland) and took Basel to the EL semis, starring along the way before losing to us, the eventual champions. Long story short, Salah did more during his time at Basel than Madueke has done in his career so far.

I was actually a fan of Madueke & Mudryk before they joined, having seen glimpses during CL matches, and was rather excited when they joined. It's just come to the point where I don't believe either player (Mudryk's career could be completely destroyed, tbh) has what it takes to go to that next level for a host of reasons. As you said, if we are to move to the next level, which is fighting for the top honours, we can't keep saying, "wait another season," where any player is concerned. Jackson really should be in this conversation as well.

Finally, another Brazilian player. We need to buy more Brazilians.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why we need to bring in more Brazilians. They are always bangers for us

I doubt Washington will be up to much either.

Half of those players were like unknown.

Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Ramires, Willian, Oscar, Alex were all solid during their time here.

Hopefully Estavao & Pedro join that list in the next few seasons.   Santos also looks a talent but whether he'll be happy with backup minutes....

Arsenal

  • Eberechi Eze to Arsenal is edging closer as the Gunners and Crystal Palace are moving towards an agreement over the structure of the £45m+ package. (Mark Brus, CaughtOffside)

  • Arsenal have completed the signing of Christian Norgaard from Brentford. A fee has been agreed, while the player’s personal terms and medical have been done and it should be announced this week. (David Ornstein)

  • Former Manchester United and PSG defender Gabriel Heinze has been officially confirmed as a new member of Mikel Arteta’s coaching staff. (Arsenal.com)

  • Valencia are unhappy with Arsenal as it looks like a deal to sign Cristhian Mosquera has now completely stalled. (Mirror)

Hope we turn them down and they take Gusto instead.Gusto is a lost cause for me with way Maresca uses the fullbacks.but is a quality traditional RB and there he can shine again then either comes back to us if Maresca era ends or can be sold for better fee than he would by another season playing in the role he badly struggles. One which Acheampong is already better at.

At CWC Maresca begins using FBs in more traditional way.
