Just wait it out with Caicedo, I don't really see any other team offering more than us. And Brighton have promised him that he can go for a fair price. We are not that desperate, there must be other players that are good enough, available for a fair price ala Ugarte, it's not like it's a dire market ala the striker market. Rather it was hard to manage certain fields as club have put other people in place to manage it anyway and the structure doesn't seem very vertical - it's more of a collective it seems. Reminds me a bit of what was reported as an owner's first clash with Tuchel, "different views" etc. Maybe modern German football philosophy is completely incompatible with what is happening in this club, and it would be rather sad, as RB's or Bayern aren't bad run teams anyway. We get him for 1-2 years on insane wages, but maybe it’s enough to get us a league title. We agree with him and Real up front that we will allow sale in future, even putting in release clause specific for them perhaps, and in that deal later they use Tchou or Vini Jr to cut the price to something actually affordable for them.
