Pizy 19,279
What do we do if we miss out on Dembele and Raphinha? Assuming Sterling is nailed on for the left wing. Tuchel clearly wants a right sided winger as well. So who is left out there?

This deal is for 25 years so in a break even position places the 10% rights at around £10m a season. If Barca's TV rights are £15 - 20m a season this seems like an awful and desperate decision. Even more so over such a lengthy period where these rights could easily be multiple times bigger by the end of the deal.

Pizy 19,279
Antony has the look of colossal bust written all over him for me. All that showboating and unnecessary tricks and flicks work for him in a shit league where he’s on the best team but I can’t see him getting away with all that in the PL. Ajax apparently want silly money for him as well and we saw firsthand what a dominant wide attacker from Ajax looks like in England. Gnabry would be amazing opposite Sterling but all rumors of him leaving Bayern dried up. And if they lose Lewa they aren’t going to want to lose him as well. Not really, Bayern will sell Gnabry if he doesn't extend. Edited June 30, 2022 by Blues Forever

It puts €200M in their hands, but they need a lot of it to register players they have already purchased.
ZAPHOD2319 4,949
Stop pissing around and finish the Sterling deal. Go back for Ake, but Man City putting £50m or even if it is €50m, walk away.

Some reports seem to suggest this was necessary just to balance the books for this financial year and allow them to register Kessie and Christensen. If they want to trade at any respectable rate apparently they need two more of these economic levers to take place and they're not likely to simply go through over night. The result of what happens with Raphinha will determine where Barca are likely standing in all of this. I also cannot see them prioritising him over Lewa, even more so if they can still come to an agreement with Dembele on a new contract.

Do people actually believe that Barca the team that are; A) €1.5bn in debt B ) cannot even register their free signings C) selling off their future revenues to keep the lights on D ) selling a top young talent in FDJ in order to create some La Liga wage cap space Are all of a sudden going to buy Raphinha for €70m plus big wages? Some people are way too taken in by people that talk absolute BS on the Internet. Think your going to be surprised. There is a reason now bookies have him as favourites to join Barca ahead of us. Superblue 6,372
Telegraph reporting we enquired about Richarlison last night when Spurs were getting close and once were aware of the price we backed off. Hardly sounds like a hijack scenario if true. Fernando

MoroccanBlue 5,399
Sterling - Done deal but we want Ake included. De Ligt - Wants to leave but Juve have set a high valuation Skriniar - Same as above Raphinha - Done deal but player really wants a Barcelona Kounde - Seems we have backed off or we have submitted a bid. A circus indeed but at least we will know more in the coming hours.
Clockwork 1,794
If Ake is costing in the 50m region, it is much better to go after Kounde then a guy who has struggled to get playing time on a team we are trying to catch up on. Fernando

While i don't disagree we should walk away if City want £50m (although he's not as bad as being made out especially in a back 3) I've never really got the end logic. Liverpool and City signed players we deemed not good enough while trying to chase us and that ended up allright. Milner couldn't get in City's team but has since helped Liverpool compete with them.
