Yeah, this is all well and good. Kepa was in the top 30% of GK's in Spain at ball collection when playing there, so take the aerial stat with a pinch of salt.

For me, this transfer makes me think one of Rudi or AC may be off, probably AC as I see Zouma staying purely because he is our only dominant aerial CB (Rudi a close 2nd.)

Thomas Tuchel has told #Chelsea’s board that he wants another central midfielder. He is determined to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title and the German also believes he needs more options on the right flank. (Guardian)

For me most important thing we need from midfield is goals and physical presence. I read Goretzka is in his last year (something that bypassed me until the weekend.) If something can be done there then we should be all over it as I wanted him before he went there. If not him then SMS.

Please not Rice or a pure DM at this point as it looks like 3atb is here to stay, no need for a pure DMF in that formation.

Tchouameni and Kounde are great friends from Bordeaux days.

Do they have a bigger bromance than Rice and Mount?

Bakayoko was the top rated DM in Ligue 1 the summer we bought him. Kounde is just not made for PL can't believe no one else sees this.

I see the dangers of buying a 5'9" CB. He is however very good on the ball.

Not Lukaku, please anything but big money on Lukaku.

but Fabinho played much higher up the pitch for Monaco, he was not a true crunching DMF for them, that was Baka

Fabinho also played a tonne at RB for Monaco and Brasil

This is a moot point. Anyone that watched Monaco knew Baka owed his living to Fabinho. I said this on CFCNET where I have posted a lot longer before he was brought. Baka was the DMF but he was total dogsh*t there too and only got anyway with being so dire as Fabinho bailed his arse out all the time.

I am ok if its Zouma plus £15m, £20m

BUT

I do not want to hear shit the first time some big 6-3, 6-4 battle tank like Chris Wood or Soucek or Slabhead, etc etc slams home a header off a cross or free kick that sails over the dwarf's head

I never argued that Fabinho was not a better player

Fabinho is also a bigger cunt too

lololol

kounde for zouma leaves us with just one CB over 6'2, all slight in build, all aerially average at best. Don't like it at all. Zouma scored 6 goals from set pieces last season. Can easiyl now see us go a full season without a headed set piece goal which come in clutch in tight games.

Praying this does not happen but it so stupid our board will do everything to complete it. smdh

I am not a fan of Zouma but I recognise the need for a balance. When I first saw this rumour I presumed AC wasn't re-signing.

Obviouly Kounde is a skilled defender but if i were still playing striker(i am 1,92 and well over 90kg) and got a 1,78, 70kg CB lined up against me in Kreisklasse i would eat him alive. That guy would either leave the pitch with 5 goals conceded or a broken ribcage lol. Surely, the refs down there are half blind half lenient but so are the refs in PL.

I think your mistaking weight with strength. Just because your 20kg more than another person 14 cm bigger doesn't mean your stronger in any way shape or form.

So why didn’t Sevilla concede five goals every game in past years? Or did Koundè got eaten alive weakly base?

How we won CL with Azpi playing CB under 1.8 M?

This is not weightlifting, this is football.. Height and weight can be compensated with other skills.

Yep, if physicality was the be all and end all Mou would still be the best manager in the world.

I have been lifting weights for 10 years so i am most probalby stronger than Kounde.

but that was not the point. I said in kreisklasse, which is the lowest division in German football i would surely best any defender this small given he has a similar skill level. This is why you could expect a big striker with a similar, top level skill set as Kounde to have a huge advantage over him.
