zero chance, he will use the free nature of the transfer to demand an insane Barca or Real Madrid wage packet

like Ramsey at Juve

a year ago no one would say that werner, silva and havertz have a chance to play for chelsea.

you never know in todays world.

that was not what I was talking about

I was replying that Alaba will not reduce his wages demands

if we want him, we will have to splash huge wages

I do not think that Alaba is unobtanium level in terms of bigness

only a handful on the planet are there atm, at that level, and most of them are there because they are also EPL (plus 2 have a negative past with us)

Kylian Mbappé   (IF we had built the new stadium, we could have afforded him easily, as we would have close to £100m more in revenue each year, which covers even his insane wages, plus helps with the transfer fee)

Raheem Sterling  (I cannot see him coming here, he will go cash in perhaps at Real or Barca in a few years when Pep leaves and Shitty falls down)

Neymar (he turns 30yo in 16 months, so soon he goes off the list)  next summer is his last big cash in chance

Sadio Mané   (he turns 30yo in 18 months, so soon he goes off the list)   next summer is his last big cash in chance

Mohamed Salah   (he turns 30yo in 20 months, so soon he goes off the list)   next summer is his last big cash in chance

Kevin De Bruyne  (he turns 30 right after this season ends (tempus fugit!!!), so he also soon goes off the list soon too, although we will play at a high level to an older age than Neymar, Sane, or Salah IMHO, as he is not nearly as pace dependent)

every other player is within the realm of possibility, even Sancho and Håland, etc <<< NOT saying we move for them btw)

contracts are running down

but COVID is fucking up the market to sell

If we can do a zappacosta (loan + extension), it would help us in getting the current amortization of players down, keep the length of contract as long.

Rudi, baka, emerson should be dealt that ways in my opinion.

We should sell the whole pile of spent matches in a fire sale. Theres no chance of us receiving the prices we bought them for. And the lose value with each passing month. yet we renew their contracts and send them out on loan.

Who is going to pay Drinkales £110k wages? 2 years left on his contract and currently valued at £4.2m Can we see that rising or him running his contract down?

Just get rid of the lot.

Inter Willing to Offer Star Duo in Deal to Lure Chelsea Midfielder N'Golo Kante to San Siro

https://www.90min.com/posts/inter-willing-to-offer-star-duo-in-deal-to-lure-chelsea-midfielder-n-golo-kante-to-san-siro

Exclusive: Internazionale are prepared to offer defender Milan Skriniar and midfield maestro Marcelo Brozovic to Chelsea, in the hope of concluding a deal for French superstar N'Golo Kante.

I Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of the World Cup winner, and he is desperate to bring him to San Siro this summer. However, the overall cost of the deal could prove a major stumbling block for the Italian giants, with his price tag and wages seemingly out of Inter's range.

The 29-year-old is a major earner at Stamford Bridge, collecting in excess of £250,000-a-week, and he has been considered an invaluable asset to the club in recent years. Frank Lampard is looking to freshen up his midfield options before the current window closes however, and Kante, who has featured less of late, could be sacrificed to free up some space on the wage bill.

That's where Inter come in. 90min understands that I Nerazzurri hold genuine interest in landing the talented Frenchman, and they are willing to send two top players in the opposite direction to secure the deal.

Conte is prepared to part with centre-back Skriniar and Croatian star Brozovic - two players who Chelsea have already enquired about this summer - to make room for Kante. The duo were integral to an Inter side which finished second in Serie A last season, although Skriniar occasionally struggled in the new system.

Kante shouldnt be sold

He should, if we get a new DM there won't be any place for him. Our system doesn't suit Kante's ability, he doesn't offer attacking threat as a B2B nor he has a discipline to sit and shield the back four properly as a DM.

If we get a new DM and sell Kante, we'll just end up with the same problem we have now - zero depth for a defensive midfielder if the main one is out. Also say if we get Rice as the defensive midfielder, it would be silly to expect a 21-year-old to come in and solve every defensive problems we have in midfield.

And while Kante doesn't work as the lone defensive midfielder in a 4-3-3, he would work alongside another defensive midfielder in a pivot like how we set up previously under Conte (Kante-Matic) and how he played at Leicester (Kante-Drinkwater). One person sits in while Kante himself goes seek and destroy.

Way too defensive imo, i don't think putting Kante together with a new DM is a good idea unless ofc Lampard change his system and use a counter-attacking instead possession based system.

Given we like to attack with almost reckless abandon, it might not be the worst of ideas to have 2 DMs sitting but am just throwing it out there. God knows what Lampard wants to do. Bigger point for me is that we need another defensive midfielder.

If we had 2 WC CBs and 2 shit hot DMs we could afford to the the HBs go forward much more and we would have 4 strong defenders we could rely on.

Sorry, it is time (has been for some time) for the cash-in.

He is ageing out, injury prone, plummeting in value, and has been a square peg in a round hole formation wise and tactic wise. We are no longer a counter-attacking team and we have no true trad DMF in the squad. We OBVIOUSLY need upgrades at DMF and CB (no one can deny this, if they do they are either a pure troll or have the football IQ of a turnip, this is partially what set me off yesterday), and Skriniar is an upgrade, a large one, and Brozovic is an upgrade at DMF over Jorginho, and (here is your Rice deal) allows us to sell Jorginho ASAP to partially fund Rice.

From Daily Mail,,i don't know how reliable this news...

"Kurt Zouma is 'wanted by both Everton and Leicester this summer... with Chelsea prepared to demand £36m fee'"

Just nonsense except a lot more of this in the next few days.
players that might leave

Rüdiger

Alonso

Jorginho

Loftus-Cheek (Loan)

Skriniar is not a CB for us. Too wild and undisciplined. Brozovic is interesting because he offers similar things to Kante but is better with the ball. But this rumor is dumb because we're already getting rid of a CB since we have too many. No way would we sign another.
