we have not gotten all the add-on's triggered only some (RM winning the league his first year was the major one) but nowhere near €35m worth
some are basically impossible (like him winning the Ballon d'Or, etc)
we got between £10m and £15m for RM winning the league
(T-markt says 13.5m as they added on £13.5m to his original £90m t-fee)
IF all are met, we end up with around £130m

We got 20 million that Real reached a CL spot and 15 million Euros that Real won La Liga.

Contrary to some on here. I'm really fine with Chilwell at 50m. I always felt he was the safer option. If money is not an issue, I would definitely pick Chilwell over Reguilon. I feel there are still question marks with Reguilon whereas we sort of already know how Chilwell will look here. He's not Alphonso Davies or Robertson but he's still really good. Probably the second best LB in the league. Great athlete, comfortably carries the ball when pressed, strong in the air, decent passer etc.. I know people have doubts about his defense but he's alright especially considering he gets no help from his winger, so on that front I suppose it's a good thing he's already used to being exposed all the time.

My biggest worry about him is that at the moment he's a jack of all trades rather than a specialist. I don't think he excels at a particular aspect of the game. Maybe his ability to carry the ball almost effortlessly at times kinda like a midfielder but that's about it. Still time to develop though..

those numbers do not add up, sorry

if the had paid another €20m  (£18m), Hazards fee would be sitting at £121.5m

it is not

they qualified for CL ages ago (they ended up 27 points above the 5th place team, Villarreal) and yet no bonus was not added in, whilst as soon as they won the league, the bonus was added on immediately,

plus why would they make such an easy thing (simply qualifying for the CL, as it was the 1995/96 season in which they last failed to qualify for the CL, so they missed the 96/97 CL, as did Barca) force them to pay MORE than a much harder thing (winning the league)

T-Markt is very fast fastidious when updating for bonuses, and the only one they added in (and I showed this with proof) was the 15m euro  (£13.5m) bonus add-on for them winning the league

show me definitive links and I will retract

Yes, because he is still the second most expensive LB of all time. Do not forget the possibility of add ons like the telegraph mentionend.

All the other alternatives cost half the price of Chilwell. So very costly and high expectations for a guy that did not have a good last season. Also, we criticise Emerson and Alonso when Mahrez destroys them, but Chilwell gets destroyed by Mahrez too. I have also seen Lamptey destroying Chilwell. Moreover, he has been injured for two months now. So many reasons why we should stay away from Chilwell.

if Chilwell is not a massive improvement over Alonso and especially Emerson at LB, we are well fucked

1999  (taking 2000 as the lowest possible amount of 'thousands') to go

1998 actually, as I will spot you Vardy too

Drogba was 24 during most of his first 20 goal topflight season, and as I posted above, he also had a very unique background that prevented him form developing (actually simply playing a lot) at a young age (he had basically no academy training)

finally, the entire thing was sort of a misunderstanding, as I have zero quibble with saying that many (but certainly not all) players continue to improve after they turn 25yo

my point was that very few show little to nothing pre 25yo, but then explode out of nowhere, it just is not borne out by the totality of top level football over the past 20 years

edit to add NON GKers

This place must have been spectacular when Pulisic was bought if there is this much teeth gnashing over Chilwell for £50M.

Bruce Buck did not help matters when he said in early spring 2019 that marketing to the US was part of the reason they bought Pulisic

Chelsea hope Christian Pulisic arrival will raise its US audience

https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/11691966/chelsea-hope-christian-pulisic-arrival-will-raise-its-us-audience

"He's a personable boy. He's well-liked in this country," Buck told The Associated Press. "So of course I would expect him when we come here and play some friendly matches, which is what our objective is in the summer of 2020. Then yes, I think he will he will be helpful."

Manchester United has the highest average US viewers among Premier League clubs this season at 630,000 on NBC, NBCSN and their digital streams, topping Arsenal (573,000), Liverpool (563,000) Chelsea (534,000), Manchester City (494,000) and Tottenham (477,000).

However kick off times and appearances on the late Saturday NBC match can impact audience figures.

"The surveys tell us that we're very strong on the two coasts," Buck said. "We have some work to do in Middle America. I think we're doing in round terms as well as any other big club."

I just hope he is not going to end up being one of those Kovacic type players who haggle on ball, pass and move sideways instead of trying to do something in attack.

Go read the first 5-10 pages of his thread. It's funny.

As well as Reguilon has done well overall this season, one thing that hasn't been said is that 2019/20 is pretty much his first full, proper season in top flight football. Never mind adapting to the Premier League, we still do not know if he's really the real deal. Lots of players have done well in their first season in top flight football, only to fall off after that. Also, the last few left backs that we have bought from abroad have not turned out too well, despite doing well at their former club - Filipe Luis, Emerson and to an extent Alonso. Maybe the club thought it might be best to go for the safer option in Chilwell - e.g. knowing the league - even if it means spending that a bit more money (that will be offset by a sale anyway). And besides, if we want to get Reguilon and if he continues to do well, we can always go get him considering Alonso will likely be sold at some point, maybe even next summer.

sorry, not buying it, at all

if this was true, you are talking about only a £8.5m bonus IF Hazard wins the bloody Ballon d'Or

as of what you claim is true, we have collected all but £8.5m of the entire £130m

zero chance that a Ballon d'Or payment (the hardest to get) would be lowest (and not only that, but I am sure there was a CL-winning bonus add-on as well, plus some appearance ones as well, so even less)

so, nope

no way have has Real Madrid paid us 135 million euros already (which is what £121.5m works out to)

that journo is wrong (quelle surprise!)

Hi lads
As a Leicester fan, I wish Chillwell all the best. Having said that, I am surprised that he is so highly rated. Defensively, he is suspect, end of! He is a full back, so firstly, he should be able to defend. The myth that he is good going forward, is just that, a myth! He gallops the middle third of the pitch, in a straight line, then puts his foot on the ball And passes it sideways or backwards. The option is usually a floated cross to nowhere. Opinion is divided, but there is little outpouring of angst at his impending departure. I dont really follow European football, so I know little about his rumoured replacements, but at 20 million leds, I suspect that this could be a good deal for us.

so you know little about Reguilon? (as he is the main one we are all comparing Chilwell to, although my person wish is to buy Theo Hernandez, but there are zero links to him from us)

No, I know nothing of him. I would snap your hands of at a swap with Alonso! The cash, though, would, along with the 30mill for Drinkwater, top up the compensation for the theft of Kante!.
