This thread is beyond pathetic. People are actually calling him Torres #2 for 20 minutes of play where he was completely isolated upfront and a penalty he missed. What would you expect Morata to do in this situation? He did all he could in winning multiple headers - which Costa never did - and he was unfortunate that he missed a penalty, which everyone does. 

In fact I found that he was quite good given the circumstance he was in. He's just been super unlucky this pre season. Getting played out on the wing a lot and the one time he gets to be a lone forward he is so isolated because the team is down a man and is parking the bus. 

Not to mention some on this forum are calling him out for his 'weak mentality'. What nonsense.  Is that solely because he's good looking? Because the boy has a very good record in the Champions League and has overall proved himself to be a big performer in big games. Apparently 20 minutes isolated upfront is a more accurate sample size than his record in the past 3 seasons.

Main thing I hope Morata does well is create good link up play with Hazard. That's Costa's biggest drawback in this team, the amount of times he would mess up a 1-2 with Hazard or make the wrong decision in their build up play was tiresome. Not since Eto'o have we had a striker who was on the same level as Hazard when it came to making opportunities for one another. We'll obviously miss the physicality in-you-face attitude of Costa but I'm happy to forego those if it means Hazard, Pedro, Willian and Morata are scoring a proportionate amount to see us succeed. 

I dream to see goals like this where our CF is on song with our more naturally creative and decisive players.

So tl;dr: Idc if Morata doesn't score 30 goals a season as long as he makes the team more fluid and suited to Hazard

I also see people were complaining about his miss in the CS.  Personally, I thought it was a very difficult chance.  If that's disappointing, then what would happen if he did this:

If "He won more headers than Batsuayi in 12 minutes" had looked good the few times he played this preseason we wouldnt be starting fucking Boga right now. People were already pulling out the Torres Era excuses last week.  He looked devoid of confidence, and thats why he isnt starting today. Conte is, rightfully so, protecting him.

It's really not difficult to understand. Morata is not a winger, therefore boga hasnt replaced morata. Michy is fitter at the moment probably which is why he starts. Morata to come on early second half.
