iseah100 5,612
Costa and Ivanovic should both be dropped but they won't be. They are Jose's untouchables.Costa should be dropped after 1 bad game?

The Chels 2,502
No he hasn't. Stop.No need to be so patronising. It's my opinion. He was poor against Newcastle, Sunderland and Schalke (in terms of his finishing). He was given a rest midweek but you wouldn't know it. iseah100
LDN Blue 7,903
He's been pretty poor for a while and Remy deserves to start some games. Ivanovic should be permanently dropped though imo.Wouldn't say poor, I'd say it's now more noticeable that he's more of a 'pure' number 9 than anything. His defensive burden isn't as huge as other players so you'll often think he's disappeared, traits we ignored because when we could feed the ball to him it didn't matter. Now route 1 (fabregas to costa) has been figured out by opposing players so there needs to be a tweak in the utilisation of Costa.. Which I have no doubt Mourinho will figure out. I loved the link up play Drogba and Costa were developing and I don't think that's without Mourinho's tactics & training. BlueLyon 9,359
Just rest Iva, Costa, Cahill,...anyway rotate, adjust tactics and eat some pride instead of pointing at opponents all the time...I think Mou has been in this game for long time, but forgot how to be adventurous and looks only about numbers, results etc. I have feeling he doesnt see some beautiful options he could use to function better, i.e. Luis or Remy in certain games. But thats just me, maybe despite all those world class players we have, we cant beat sunderland or nufc...they did their job, city did their job but we didnt. Simple as that. Now get back in training and improve.
iseah100 5,612
Which are you considering the bad game? Newcastle or Sunderland?Tbf, the whole team was poor vs Sunderland and they parked the bus, he couldn't do much.No need to be so patronising. It's my opinion. He was poor against Newcastle, Sunderland and Schalke (in terms of his finishing). He was given a rest midweek but you wouldn't know it.My bad, I think it was expected he would slow down after a torrid start. Is benchimg him the right idea? What kind of message would that send to him? Especially when Ivanovic and Cahill don't get dropped despite making mistakes over and over? What kind of message would that send to him? Especially when Ivanovic and Cahill don't get dropped despite making mistakes over and over?I don't think it would be dropping Costa as much as it would be giving Remy his chance. But you are right and it's all hypothetical anyway. We'll likely see the same team next week except Matic in for Mikel.Edit: forgot Cesc is suspended so probably see Ramires in for him. But the starting 11 seems fixed now, and even if you're playing badly you won't be dropped is the message. iseah100
Sheva. 5,373
There's a reason we have a full squad and not just 11 guys. 11 of the same players cannot win every game, not to mention some of our players have games they're not 100% suited to. Last season i complained every game about Willian-Oscar-Hazard trio -it's good defensively, but not the best attacking wise- yet we still play them every game regardless of the opposition's style.Luis is a no brainer for defensive teams, but Mourinho would rather wait for the game to be lost before bringing him on.It's really very frustrating how HE blew 5 points from making the same mistake in 2 straight games The Chels and Blue Colored Sky
The Chels 2,502
How come Jose doesn't moan about the players (strikers) like he would have last season? Probably because this is his team now and it's still making the same mistakes.

His excuses in this game and against Sunderland of timewasting, us being unlucky, only one team trying to win, etc. are hypocritical and suggest little will change. CHOULO19 24,332
I thought he did very well today. The team was setup excellently as is evident by how well we started the match, then we came out from HT well on top and creating chances and finally the subs he made were all brilliant and helped us create chances and get back into the match despite Newcastle have all of the their players around their own box.No complaints whatsoever from me. He did his job perfectly and can't be held accountable for the players failing to score the chances created.I blame Jose 28 shots and only 1 goal .. he needs to improve his finishing. perhaps take some tips from TorresFunny thing is, that was EXATLY the problem, you don't even need to watch the match to know. Our finishing and decision making in the final third was terrible and Newcastle got very lucky on several occasions.
