The Mourinho Thread

PSG or City will pay out his contract.

Inter fans in December 2009 were as worried as you that they're stuck with Mourinho because the payout is too high - and come May 2010 this problem got solved thanks to Real.

So stop worrying.

Inter fans wanted him out, what? and in the same season he won the treble? He is still a popular figure there now. Doubt it, Pellegrini is playing some of the best football City is playing in their history, never gonna get sacked unless from now to next summer they start an outrages downfall.

Inter fans wanted him out the whole 2009/10 season actually. In about the same sentences I'm reading here right now - "we won't win anything with him, he's got no clue, his tactics are mad, he's not playing the right players" etc. Their only concern was that the payout was too high and Inter can't afford it, but the consensus was "get rid of him for whatever price, get Benitez and then we'll start playing good an win something".

Beware of your wishes, I guess?

Pellegrini is playing good football, but too hit or miss - win 6-0, lose 0-3 makes for a great watch, but if he fails to produce results he'll have troubles. Though he probably has 2-3 seasons anyway, seeing how much time Mancini got.

I think Roman is now more aware of the fans feelings after his failed and ill advised appointment of the waiter and the fans that attend games will not be happy if Jose is not given a fair run ,the signs are from Gourlay and Buck are that Jose's tenure will be at least for the length of his contract, after all Chelsea are in the next round of the Champions league ,League cup quarter final and well positioned in the league ,talk of Mourinho's position being under threat is surely just idle gossip made for forums?

I don't think Roman really cares about the fans feeling and all that shit.

Plus Chelsea fans have no guile to stand up to Roman.

Well I do not see the waiter at the club anymore ,you really should have come to a game at that time if you do not believe Chelsea fans have the guile to stand up to Roman, many were saying they would rather he left and took his money with him when the waiter was appointed,I hasten to add I was not among them.

Needs to have time to stamp his mark.

We all know that when he does it will be different to now, guess you can say this is a 'transitional' season ( :Goober: ), but he should be the manager being given the time to turn us around - not Roberto or Rafa - but the Special One.

True but then again, with a better squad this time around, one would expect us to do better in the weakest group compared to last season's and the one before. Instead, we have hardly been convincing and making it somewhat harder than it should be. (in a way, we should also be thanking Steaua for messing things up in the group)

No doubt about that.

Also, like Sidzeret posted earlier, Mourinho felt guilty for not making more changes earlier in the second half.

When you look at who's been in and out of the playing eleven, the squad seems largely underutilized. I think this is something Mourinho might be looking to change in the coming weeks, especially with games coming thick and fast in December.

I want to add, that we have a manager who is willing to put his own neck on the line, rather then the players. That itself is an amazing achievement in terms of the reaction of the players - when a manager is willing to accept mistakes rather then put down to the teams performances. I will love Jose for that.

Very true, I was thinking about this on our way home today, it was a huge decision for Jose to retur. To Chelsea. He is putting his legacy, his reputation on the line. He has chosen for the his love of the club to put all that pressure, press nonsense and even tre very real possibility that Roman will again sack him as soon as look at him. God Roberto won the cChampions league.

I really admire Jose for returning and I just hope he is given a chance.

Agree with that notion. I remember that last season Benitez didn't really protect the players in any way to the media and always seem to let them have free shot at our players. And whenever, our players were the victim of an offence, he didn't protect the team and instead chose to do his best impression of Wenger; "I didn't see it. I didn't hear anything. I was only concentrating on the game. Every week there are many incidents of this. There is no point in discussing this bla bla bla...". The Suarez-Ivanovic biting incident was the most evident of all!

Have found it slightly funny that on Saturday, people were raving about Mourinho and his decision to go 4-3-3 (more like a lopsided 4-2-3-1) against West Ham and now not a word spoken about doing the same yesterday with arguably an even more cautious and defensive approach seemingly only looking for the point...

that's the problem with draw conclusions based on one game while ignoring the other 3 his month. the players are not exactly filled with confidence heading into a tough hectic period of the season. i hope we don't come out of that period outside the top 4. Big games against Arsenal, Liverpool in December

Any person who questions Jose's loyalty should remember that.

He is willing to put himself in the firing line, rather then the team. Rather that bites him in the ass or not, i doubt will be a factor - but i think Roman has finally come to the knowledge we need someone longer then a season, hence Jose's return. He clearly has a heart for this club, and once the team responds to that - we will be stronger.

Well, with Roman one never know, does one ? Despite of Jose making a mistake & not resting the players, hopefully he won´t make the same mistake again. Chelsea qualified, should beat those Romanian, secure the first place & let´s move on.
