The Mourinho Thread

 Share

Recommended Posts

Some people here are being so ridiculous and childish to use this "not-so-successful" season of Mourinho's as a leverage to belittle his ability and achievements.

Mourinho led Porto to win Champions League, Porto for god sake! PORTO!

Mourinho led Chelsea to win Premier League after freaking 50 years! Twice in a row!

Mourinho led an unbelievably average Inter to win Champions League!

Can anybody else do that? If you can't find another one then shut the hell up and be grateful he is coming home!

He is only human, not freaking God, of course he can fail, a football manager is not like a bloody FIFA player that controls a whole team's faith all alone by a controller! His so-called failure in Madrid takes away nothing from him. I don't know why he doesn't get along with Madrid's Mr.BIGs and I simply don't give a damn, maybe they are jealous of Mourinho's handsomeness? or maybe they are too much an ego to be replaced by someone actually better? As a Chelsea fan I don't care about what's going on in Madrid, I only know Mourinho was loved at Porto, was loved at Inter, and most importantly he was loved at Chelsea! Fans worship him and players respect him, what else you need ffs.

Everybody has the possibility to fail in any team, but for Chelsea, Mourinho is our best bet, argue with that!

simply cant argue. best post ever... :worship::worship::worship:

past their prime players or at that point of time they were on the edge of it. jose's impact on inter is best seen with what happened to them immediately after his departures...

Thanks, I just wanted to reply @ with this, look what happened to Inter after Mourinho left, with almost the same squad. That Inter was indeed an average team, Jose brought them to the highest level.

Let me remind to some of you, that Jose was not first manager who had argue with Casillas. The other one was Vicente Del Bosque. And Casillas was fell out from starting XI for a long time under Del Bosque, because he told shit about teammates.

It was more the same case with us, infact almost indenticle, in Ancelotti's first season our team was amazing, scored the most goals ever in a whole premier league season and won the Premier League.

Then the next season with the same players except for Ballack and Carvalho (who where past there primes anyway) we played the worst and just most horrible football ever, the most uncreative. Even though we finished 2nd that season, I still think that was our worst season ever because we where just awful, god awful, couldn't even pass a ball properly, it was only because of our spirit to come back and win games we managed to get so many points.

Oh and we did have a terrific start when Essien, Drogba and Malouda where on form, and once them three hit injuries all at once BOOM!

It's just a team past there primes that's all, look at those players mentioned there, they are all like 30 something now, whilst then they where 28/29, which is a likely age for someone in there prime.

Yeah that was great, to do it with such a team.

This is why for me Klopp is the new Mourinho, but even better as produces total attacking football!

What he has done for Dortmund is what Mourinho achieve with Porto back then.

Even if Klopp does not win the CL I think he has shown to do great, heck he even made Mourinho his bitch this whole season!

Anyways, I agree Mourinho is a top coach. He can comeback to our club and do good.

I just hope that he learned his lesson from Madrid and don't let his ego get to his head.

He can't get mad at the club again after like the second or third season.

If he comes back I would like him to stay for a long time. 6 to 10 years would be awesome for me.

Anything less then 3 will be a shame.

He brought and edge to each and every player we had back then, one of those 'we cannot be beaten attitude' And at the same time a complete father and son attitude, he was loved, and they loved him.

If he joins the project has to be laid out, stick with him and allow him to build a dynasty at this football club. This club has won PL titles, FA Cups, League Cups, Europa League and Charity Shields so some may say there isn't much to go for that we haven't won, Jose is a winner, winners don't settle for winning, they want more and we are winners and so is Jose. As a collection, our club and Jose can deliver more and more, and what was once a divorce is nearly a marriage again.

This football club is in a fantastic position right now, in terms of players like Hazard etc, trophy cabinet and also some brilliant youth prospects. Let the sailor sail the ship, Jose can and will make this group even more special than it is now. We have had Rafa and now it's time to bring back the prodigal son we all love.

Jose Mourinho, we are waiting.

I don't think we were even that convincing in that little mini run we had at the end. We got 2nd because the three teams below us all bottled it at the same time. To think United nearly made it 4 and gifted us the league, imagine if that happened? :o they say you can't win a title by default, but we would have if that happened.

What was scary is between the City and Wolves game i think our GD was negative, those title rebound games at the start upto and including the Blackpool match made our stats for that season very deceiving.

We ended that season on 71 points, Tottenham could get 72 this season and miss out on 4th.

The impact of Inter was because they signed them to long term deals... He destroyed Inter financially.

All your posts are full of doubts, I'm genuinely curious, who do you suggest to manage Chelsea?

I already posted if there was anyone else that could possibly manage Chelsea, so....

Personally, AVB should of still been the manager.

milito 28mil 2009-2013 4 year deal.

thiago motta 2009-2013 4 year deal

lucio 8mil 2009-12 3 year

etoo (i think he earned a fortune in that deal) i can go on and on.

also lets make one thing very clear, JOSE MOURINHO in his 2 years at inter milan spent only 35mil when u consider all the players that were let go. i dont think i got what u wanted to say because this has got to be the craziest statement that i have ever heard any1 say about mou.

inter milan shelled out 40 mil in the 2010-11 transfer window, another 35 mil in the 2011-12 and 65 mil in this transfer window.

yes it has been a complete failure of a season for Mourinho but it shows what a great manager he is if this is the first time in 9 or so years managing some of the biggest clubs in the world where he has struggled. Anything less than a trophy is always going to be a failure at Real Madrid anyway.

Could such a failure have been prevented easily? Yes. A poor season is inevitable when the squad is fighting among itself and you do nothing to fix it. Mourinho for a lot of the season has been losing the support of the players one by one and a few weeks Marca claimed he was on speaking terms with only a handful of players. He dropped the club captain and Real Madrid legend, is not backed by fans or key players but has apparently done little to try to group the players back together. He seemed like he had resigned himself to defeat by November.

However, in my opinion Real Madrid is the impossible job. Nobody can be successful at the club for a long period of time for as long as Real Madrid is run the way it is. It is so stupidly political, there is absolutely no patience among board members and players are treated more like celebrities than professional footballers. (This is part of the reason Barca are more successful than Real Madrid, I think. If you look at the setup at Barca the emphasis is on the team and playing football. On the other hand, football seems to play second fiddle at Real Madrid sometimes. Their training complex is more like a 5 star hotel than a training ground, WAGS go everywhere with the team, players seem to have more 'rock star treatment' than focusing on how to win their next match. Barca are a club, Real Madrid are a company- getting heavily involved in Spanish politics, building holiday complexes on the other side of the world etc. It is ridiculous). Look at some of the world class managers that have been at Real Madrid and have not been given the time to develop something.

Capello got a year the first time, won La Liga but had disagreements with the owners

Heynckes got 1 year

Hiddink got a few months but questioned the board and was consequently sacked

Queiroz got 10 months

Luxemburgo got 1 year

Capello in his second spell won the league and was still sacked because of the playing style

Pellegrini got 1 season

It is a ridiculously run football club. The fans and board are like spoilt children when things go wrong and I'm amazed Mourinho has survived this long to be honest. Maybe the ridiculous running of the self proclaimed biggest club in the world goes some way towards explaining what I see as a complete and utter failure and underachievement in this century. They pay extortionate wages, pay massive sums for players and are run like a 10 year old playing FIFA manager mode. Now considering that they are meant to be 'the biggest club in world football', why have they only won 6 league titles, 1 Copa del Rey, 2 Champions Leagues, 1 Super Cup and 1 Intercontinental Cup since the turn of the century? Considering how they just chuck money at every problem they encounter and buy whoever they want and are meant to be some sort of 'Super Club', I consider that quite an underachievement.
