No it most definitely wasn't. Lots of people were frustrated with Mourinho not giving the guy a fair chance and knew we had missed out on a wonderful player when he was sold, but at the same time admitted that with Mourinho in charge it was the only option that made sense because he clearly didn't rate De Bryune and keeping him was in nobody's best interest. Nobody in 2014 predicted Mourinho's sudden downfall and at the time it was pretty obvious that Jose was gonna be staying at least a couple more years and things were looking really positive for the team (which even resulted in a league title a year later) so there was absolutely no point holding onto De Bruyne when the choice was between keeping him and sacking Mourinho on the spot in 2014, or keeping Jose and selling KdB. How do you get stubbornness out of this? Jose did not think KDB should be slected so he didn't select him. TSO may have been right in that decision, he may have been wrong, but are you suggesting that it is stubbornnes for a manager to pick the players he thinks are right for the team? Am I to assume that if you were the manager you wouldn't pick the players you believed were best for your side, but would pick the other ones instead so no one could think you were being stubborn? Tell us you think Jose was wrong by all means but don't expect an easy ride if you just want to throw baseless accqusations at our former manager.
