The Mourinho Thread

You could say 'better late than never' to be fair.

That's all well and good, but Mourinho needs to start showing that. Giving RLC less than 10 minutes in a dead rubber isn't exactly helping.

At least Ivanovic speaks his mind, none of this "happy for him" b/s.

He actually name dropped Boga in the discussion lmao. If he wasn't a football manager, he would have made a good politician because he does talk an awful lot of bollocks.

Honestly, I just read it now and actually burst out laughing.

Yeah, for now it's just a PR thing.

I'd have been fine if he just named Oscar, Matic and Fabregas because at least we're not being deluded into thinking anything else lmao. He really needs to start showing us he's serious about these claims

Next week is Tammy Abraham's turn and the week after that will be Jay silva's "academy day".He might run out of academy players to use as PR excercise at this rate. jose is spreading the love, i tell ya

The randomness of it just screams PR stunt like you said. Boga just rolled off his tongue out of Nowhere. The interviewer must have been thinking where did that come from Jose.

Asked whether Chelsea had made a mistake in letting Lampard go, as he netted another winner for City at Leicester on Saturday, Mourinho was initially terse.

“It’s his life, nothing to do with us,” he said. “He left Chelsea as a free agent and chooses his life, we can't complain about it. That’s football.”

But the Blues' boss then went on to go far deeper into the reasons behind the split than he has yet mentioned.

He said: “My view is that when you want to look forward, look for the future and have people like Fabregas and Matic and Oscar which are the next 10 years of the club, and the project is prepare for the next 10 years not for the next year, we made the right decision.

Think hes right there, but hes also covering the boards arse.

Yep. What it does is just confuse everyone, the anticipation for RLC getting minutes midweek was incredible. He even let the kid do the presser, I don't understand why. I still, albeit slightly ignorantly, believe Mourinho does want to use these kids.. But he seems too afraid?

It was really OTT with the RLC and the way his debut was being built up by the media. It goes to show that either the media don't have faith in Mourinho integrating youth players into a first team or highlights our poor track record in developing young players at the club. The reason I say this is that Arsenal had a younger player than RLC making his debut against Galatasaray named Ainsley Maitland-Niles who is a real talent. You did not hear any of the same hype about him even though he was actually given the chance by Wenger to play much longer on the field then the odd 8 minutes we gave RLC. Like yeah I was pleased to see RLC make his deut but the way it was all built up, you would think he is the second coming of Christ FFS.

Wenger tried to take the shine off our "academy day" but failed. Jose 1-0 Wenger :Goober:

Absolutely. Action speaks volumes. Mourinho can say youth integration in any number of different ways he wants but ultimately, I'd rather see the youth players given a chance on the pitch rather than be talked about in the press.

League cup game at Derby tomorrow and Mourinho has belted out "We will pick a strong side" etc.
