Leif 6,006
But Azpilicueta did kind of the same thing..That was one of the most cringe-worthy moments in our history; seeing how many people couldn't pronounce his name. Az-Pil-A-Cuet-A. They made it seem so hard but all they had to do was break up the word.
Jase 43,479
But Azpilicueta did kind of the same thing..Pardon my ignorance but isn't Alderweireld's name easier (or straightforward) to pronounce? With Azpilicueta, people already get the first syllable wrong.

termninja 5,290
But Azpilicueta did kind of the same thing..Well now that you mention it... He did But at least we had faith in our fans at first, we waited some time until we noticed people were joking a out his name. Tottenham did it straight away... Joking, I just found it funny because I was actualy wondering how to pronounce his name too

By far the best defender in the PL now, made a clumsy Tottenham defence world class all by himself. Johnnyeye
LukakutoStamford 779
I wanted Chelsea to sign him but I didn't expect to be on top XI for the PL in /015-2016. Would have solved one of the two CB positions.

Assuming you mean that to spell out, in English, the correct way to say Dave's name then I'm afraid you have it wrong. Maybe not so easy then. In any case, it was just funny not serious. The Dave song includes a pronunciation of Daves surname after all, albeit the same incorrect version you've given.

milka 3,393
CHELSEA are lining up a ‘double your money’ move for Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld. (Times) #CFC Antonio Conte’s side have made an enquiry about the Belgium star’s interest in leaving Tottenham. (Times) #CFC Alderweireld has 3 seasons left on a contract that pays a basic £49,000/week & 28-yo could expect to double that amount. If you reward people for doing something, they will continue to do it. As consumers of media we lap this stuff up so, naturally, they keep pumping it out. Alderweirald's agent is almost certainly the source of this story as he chases an improved deal for his client. Good story, good source. Of course it's going to be published. Hamilton 2,120
Us, City and Utd still keeping an eye on his contract situation. Spurs can single handed extend his contract until 2020 but then a clausule for transfer fee of 28m€ will be activated.

I know we are reportedly interested but a lot will depend on whether we'll continue stick with the back 3 - aka will Conte stick around? - and what we're gonna do with Luiz and Cahill.
