He is great to have in the squad. Definitely not a nailed on starter, but a fantastic option to have in your squad to break down smaller teams, or change the dynamic in the midfield.

He has been brilliant again this season. I think less game time, less fatigue and less stress on the body has definitely helped him. He looks fresh and a lot quicker on the field these days.

Exactly this, I don't understand the calls to turn him back into a starter, he's far too big a liability athletically for that.

Im hoping he accepts this role beyond this season and what might spin his decision in our favour is that we are his best shot at giving him a CL medal before he retires.

By far the smartest player that we have.

I wish he were either more athletic or has tighter ball control

I think his ball control is just fine. It is more like he can't go the intensity for 90 minutes at full pace. A shame considering he has only just turned 30. But he could play this elite-joker role for like another 6,7 years.

Quite intriguing listening Antonio talk about a question regarding Cesc today we he explained brilliantly. The question was asked whether he can keep Cesc happy by just playing him from the bench and also starting the odd game. Antonio said that he is wanting a winning mentality from everyone and it's not about keeping people happy but driving them to work hard, if they work hard they win things, then they should be happy. If they want to be happy, they work hard and the rest will follow. He said keeping 20+ plus players happy is not easy, it's his job to make them winners and prepare them.

Last year Mou tried to play him as no 10 and that does not suit his game. He does not have the dribbling and the ball control of a no 10. He is much better starting deep and make forward run

FABREGAS' PL SEASON

Games started: 10
Substitute appearances: 15
Goals scored: 4
Assists: 9
Chances created: 43

That assist count gets more impressive when you look deeper into it. He's played only 1047 minutes in the Premier League this season and only 3 players have more assists than him. All 3 played significantly more than he has as well - De Bruyne (13 assists - 2533 minutes), Eriksen (12 assists - 2987 mins), Sigurdsson (12 assists - 3059 mins).

Must Stay.

Completely agree. In the beginning I thought we can get away with not having fab in our team because we can create ton of chances with 343. But as teams start to adapt to this tactic we are back to our old selves, we looks clueless without fab.

He's one player I hope we don't let go unless we get another playmaker.

Even if we do get another playmaker, I don't think we should sell Fabregas. Can't go wrong with having 2 in the team, especially when we'll be playing more games and rotating more next season.

It all depends on what happens in the summer tbh. I can't see Cesc or the club turning down £25-30m (from Milan) for a bench player as of now.

He's not strictly a bench player like say Batshuayi, is he? He's been used quite a bit as a starter and substitute and think Conte has balanced that quite well.
