Exclusive: Everton's John Stones wanted Chelsea move to happen months ago

Sunday Express Sport can reveal that the England player, aware of growing interest from Premier League sides in the top four, informed manager Roberto Martinez that he wanted to further his career elsewhere if the opportunity arose.

Wish we would stop with the low ball offers. If it's 26m you know it'll be swiftly rejected and only serve to piss Everton off even more.

If they're then resigned to losing him they'll go to United and City and offer him there just to get back at us.

Mail Mirror and telegraph all running it. So either a copy and paste job, or theyve been briefed out in USA

But they reported the same thing last week - 26m bid in next 48 hours or something along those lines.

£24M/£26M bid apparently been made, well thats going round on twitter anyway even BBC is running it in their gossip bit but its all just gossip and rumors. Not sure what I make of that, for that money we could buy Pedro or someone at a certain standard to play in the middle of the park.

If this is true think we will get him before the end of the window. Meh 34m is a bit overpriced but guess since we are signing no one else and have lot of money spare for some reason might as well do it on Stones this window.
