Kieran. 6,317
He doesn't always play in champions league, but when he does, he wins the damn thing.Has any other starting debutant won it?He's the only starting debutant ever, so no.

captainjt26 106
Good shift by Bertrand hopefully DiMatteo stays and we get to see more of the players that break through the chelsea academy get some game time but the future looks bright for Bertrand. Superblue 6,372
Unbelievable, just playing in that final will have made his chelsea career - he will take massive confidence now to taking over from cole as first choice over the next couple of seasons. Cole as he gets older needs to be rested more, he has played near constantly for the last 5 years but i'm fully confident in bertrand to make the left back spot his own. Henrique 9,133
Well, I was afraid, but the guy played a decent match. I think no one could ask much more than that from a player making his debut in european football just in a UCL final. rantdeville 195
Talk about confidence-booster for this kid. Today he played in his first European match. Today he marked one of the best wide players of this generation. Today he won the club's first European Cup. And to top It off, he did it in style. BlueLion. 21,491
He and Ash had such a lovely dynamism, when one attacked the other sank back into the LB role. This is a partnership that could blossom in the future...

I tried to relax and go to sleep in the afternoon but had all these images flashing through my mind.'I can't believe it, it hasn't sunk in. looking at the experienced players, I am so happy for them, I didn't want to go out and let anyone down, especially the manager, and these guys have got what they've always been fighting for.'Since I came in Ashley has welcomed me with open arms. termninja 5,290
He was also great last night and it was a brilliant decision by Robbie to stop Robben. Well done lad!Ryan Bertrand:CL games played: 1CL trophies:
CHOULO19 24,332
I thought he did well yesterday. This was highlighted when Malouda came on and Lahm started to be able to join the attacks. But he is no attacker, I don't see him playing on the wing anytime soon.
Ollie 4,400
Was shocked beyond belief when i saw him starting but these occasions will just make him grow so much as a player.
Jase 43,479
Well played to Bertrand last night. Did what was asked from him and never look overawed by the occassion. We definitely have a good replacement for Cole here and hopefully, he gets more chance to impress next season.
LDN Blue 7,903
The balls of Di Matteo. To put the under-study left-back who most of us thought would never even see the light of breaking through, who seemed like he was destined to rot on our bench hampering his career day after day, to put him on the pitch. Outstanding. And didn't he handle it so well? No nerves displayed, confident, solid, reliable. It wasn't a "world class" performance, but he did the job necessary in keeping that left-hand side as compact as possible. His career just received a much deserved boost. Bright things for this lad, and I hope we see him get an England call-up in 2014. Kieran. and manpe
