CHOULO19 24,332
I'm not over exaggerating when I say this, but this is the most illogical and mind blowing contractual decision, in not only sport history, but human history.Well then I don't want to see how you do exaggerate! But I agree with the general idea, stupidest thing we've done in a long while.
Sheva. 5,373
Speechless, absolutely speechless. The most incredible thing about this, is that AVB hasn’t even been including Kalou as a member of the substitutes bench. AVB has practically banished him from the squad apart from the odd carling cup & CL cameo. Yet.. He wants to give him a new deal? …It baffles the mind.Exactly, he rarely plays anymore so i don't quite see the point.Maybe the club just don't want to let him leave for free, 'cos that is the only reasonable explanation i can come up with. Kez 2,727
WTF?! this club has made some stupid decisions in it's time but this one really really takes the piss. How does he deserve a new contract? I thought the next step was to get rid of him in January to whoever would take him. RIDICULOUS. Severinb 309
If we give him a new contract we can sell him for more! :eyebrows:
Badboy 1,526
Looks like Salomon's voodoo has come back and there was me thinking AVB knew kalou was garbage.
manpe 10,861
This can't be true... fuck me :S What were they THINKING?! I can understand it only if his salary is reduced to 1£/week and not included in the squads to free up a foreign space. I was already certain he was becoming a reject under AVB.... FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. Here's me hoping he doesn't accept the extension because of a massive paycut and now that he knows he's not a fans favourite.
Swoopz 183
King Kalou will end his career with Chelsea and retire as one of the clubs greatest. And when he passes we shall place his ashes under the other penalty spot, across from Peter Osgood's! BlueJewel
manpe 10,861
If we give him a new contract we can sell him for more! :eyebrows:It's like playing a lottery thinking anyone would want him now that he has a new contract... in fact, winning a lottery or coming out of the Sahara desert alive would be more realistic. We can only hope it's the club's intention to sell him for some donut money, and meanwhile let's hope he gets a huge paycut. laura90 and Shak
Kieran. 6,317
Maybe it's a contract worth 5k a week.

Rambo 1,729
Like Term said, Kalou must be the best training player of all time. Term-X
Blue Armour 4,438
I hope this has nothing to do with Drogba's contract talks supposedly stalling... Shak
Rambo 1,729
Much rather re-sign Drogba for a year than extend Kalou's contract. Salomon had a decent run here (time wise) and it's time we move on. Shak and Term-X
Shak 22
With Drogba's new contract talks stalling...there are quite a few European clubs sniffing around for his services as a free agent (eg. Bayern Munich; AC Milan; Spurs to name a few..)Kalou's receiving a new contract? That's the worst possible news...we should let Kalou go for free..I mean we managed to let Fabio Borini leave on a free-transfer and then join up with Roma where he is playing REGULARLY.. Blue Armour 4,438
From the looks of things it seems as if some of the older squad members aren't too happy with the new deals, and the club is trying to secure deals with whoever they can from that group...
